The car in the clip look perfect for a stock car. DRL LED headlight, good looking 16" and no fog light.

^ Does look better without fogs IMO. And loving that Whiteout, Ultramarine may be on the way out as my choice. Especially now we know the Canadian FR-S while having all-black seats will still have the red stitching elsewhere.

Never owned a white car... Now not sure if I should start. can anyone weigh in?

Pros and cons of white cars? Does it being pearl make it any more tedious?

I'd say it all depends where you live and how much you ca about your car's appearence, as well as how much you want to protect such an investment. Because where you live will determine how dirty your car can get because of factors like dust, (industrial and natural) and mist. And that could determine if you garage your car or not, if you had a choice.

The pros would probably be a personal preference. Sure swirl marks are less visible, but someone like me who is very detail attentive can still see them. That being said, if you're lazy and don't take care of your car washing supplies, you can probably get away from it. White cars also look very clean in the daytime, and even night time. The pearl effect would add to that.

The cons are that dirt sticks out more which can serve as a focal point. Which means that would prompt an owner to wash it more. I don't think the pearl effect will make it more tedious. I don't see why since there's a clear coat over it.

For me, it doesn't matter. My mom has a Super White xD, I wash it once a week, it's not garaged so it gets attacked by the fog of San Francisco, but because I keep it clean, It stays clean in the mornings. My car is a Phantom Grey Pearl Corolla, I wash it once a week, same thing.

But just because you have a white car, doesn't mean you need to keep it clean. It's all up to the owner. Most people who see dirty white cars mind their own business anyway, just like any other car. I personally think its embarrassing.

I disagree with above ^^^^

Had a white Evo IX and was always blown away about how much dirt the car hid when it came time to wash it!

White also hides dust and looks more clean until it gets really dirty. Get a bit of rain and no spots.

In this case though swp/whiteout is more of a beige and doesn't hide dirt the way a pure white or pearl white from other manufacturers would.

Veloist 03-31-2012 01:23 PM

It's easy to tell when a white car is "hiding dirt" because it lacks that deep shine of a clean white car. I think I might be biased here since I'm quite detail attentive when it comes to cleaning cars.

Jeff Lange 03-31-2012 01:35 PM

You can tell it's not clean, but it doesn't look bad like when a black car is dusty, etc.
