Purchasing FRS/BRZ

Hey guys, I'm planning on purchasing either FRS or BRZ. Just depends who gives me a better price, scion or subaru. I will probably go with 2013, since there isnt much difference with 2014. I'm willing to wait until december, hoping to get the best price. I might be even considering buying a slightly used. Any suggestions on what extra's i should consider? Nav system? I've heard that its not that great and I should just get an after market one. Exhaust? ANy buying tips? BRZ or FRS?

Nav only comes on BRZ and it'd better if you ask in BRZ section.

Can't go wrong with either FRS or BRZ, just get whoever offers you the best price.

FRS should be cheaper, but there are places selling BRZ's under MSRP. The FRS base head unit is great if all you want is buttons and music with some basic Blue Tooth functionality (works very well with android 4.3). For navigation I just use the audio from my phone to tell me where to turn, much better than any in car nav I've seen and with much more recent updates, not to mention traffic info.

In terms of timeframe, '14s look to be arriving around October/November so I wouldn't bother waiting until December, just walk in and if they start wheeling and dealing you mention "well I think I might wait until the '14s come out" which should get them in line.

Stealerships suck, hope you find an honest one, I think the advertised MSRP is a fair price for this car, if you can get that plus whatever taxes out the door I think you'll be happy.

GREAT idea ...... :w00t:

They are good cars.

Pick a color, a front end that you prefer, a transmission you like ..... then make an offer. I'd do it sooner rather than later ... thus giving you more time to find the "right" color and transmission ..... :).

I got my BRZ Limited for $1300 under sticker. So Subaru dealers are dealing at least a little bit. This was the only dealer in my area (out of about 5) which offered any substantial discount off MSRP. Most other dealers were around $400 below MSRP.

I am seeing $1000 off right now too where I live, and this is just the price before any negotiation. I think $1200-1500 off is pretty reslisitc by me now. I was able to get mine for almost $800 off when I bought mine. And that includes three years of oil changes and a lifetime powertrain warranty if I get the major (15K ,30K, etc) service done at the dealer.

I actually work at a Toyota/Scion Dealership. Per Scion's regulations we are not supposed to sell them for an unadvertised price. However, at the end of the day the dealership just wants to sell cars and make you a happy customer so you come back and use their service dept and buy your next car from them. The amount of mark up in a Scion is not a lot at all. Plus, there is no hold back, so they cannot dip down below invoice. They truly are a bargain at MSRP, but I have seen them discounted a little bit. At the end of the day, if you are happy with the car and your payment, you got a good deal. Happy shopping!

Few displaced Coloradans in this region! I only know one... That said, surprisingly few hockey fans in this region. Go figure.

Minneapolis area.

There is another dealer called Walser that is typically cheaper and I used their price to get Morries to lower theirs.

Problem is Walser got hit with hail, so their car prices are skewed right now and Morries won't match them:

Both of these cars (Limited manual) have been for sale for awhile. My guess is that you could get them for sub $25K easy, but it depends how much hail damage and the cost to fix...
