here is what i know!
After getting my oil change at honda for my si I walked over to toyota next door and spoke with the scion rep there. He had told me that there will be at least 2 versions and it will be a replacement for the tc.
Boxer engine 2.0 at around 150hp. Possible turbo version of the 2.0 running at around 240 They will be releaseing news of both versions and the scion badge next months new york auto show. I asked the scion dealership to create a waiting list for me and put me on it. I am ordering a white one and going all panda status. I also might be getting a deal with scion and trd to be able to get a lot of factory parts for really cheap through the dealer. Base model starts at 21k Turbo starts at 25ishk going no higher than 28k. Standard scion warranties on both with trd warranties as well. The scion rep is going to keep me updated when he gets info. I will relay it here as well. |
Here's a quick hint. We usually know more than the morons at the dealer. So, thanks for the tip, but that dipshit is quite probably wrong.
|
Does toyota just release info to the net before the dealers though? He may not know as much as the people here on the forums but it doesn't mean he knows any less. The info that he has he will more than likely get will be pricing before anyone here. They are holding a meet for scion in May I believe to discuss price points.
That info might become public at the same time the dealer gets it so I know what you mean. Hopefully any info he gives holds true. |

Yeah I was in the toyota dealership a couple weeks ago and talked to one of the guys there he said it was going to be N/A and TRD would offer a supercharger. He said Turbos are "terrible" and that they "destroy" a car because of all the "pressure and stress" lol |
Lol, turbo causing more stress than a super charger. You know, since the tc super charger didn't have oil leaks or anything like that. Reps usually don't know about the car but they know models/price points.
|
I would also definitely bet dealers at this point would know absolutely squat about this car. Plus over $20K for every version doesn't lend any credence that any version will be branded as a Scion.

Anyways, give that salesmen some slack and see what kind of info he can give to us. I'll be enjoying reading this thread for that salesmen's BS info he can tell me bout. |
Isnt the production version supposed to be introduced at the Geneva Auto Show this week?
|
you trollin op?... anyhow.. im proud to say that i dont trust people at dealerships except the mechanics. i went car shopping with my uncle lookin for cars and the best info they gave me was what the name of the color was or "its a very good car"...
psh yea thanks pal.. i felt bad that i knew more about the cars they sell than they do |

what you see is what you'll get... except for the changes that will be made... if the car is made... which Toyota would like to do... but might not... although a bigwig says that he likes it a lot... What utter procreating gonads. I have it from an offical source (my office cleaner) that something incredibly exciting will certainly be happening, sometime, probably soon, perhaps, unless of course it doesn't, in which case something even more exciting will happen, possibly. Mine is bigger than yours. |
