Quick note on SoCal pricing (BRZ)
I'm about to (crosses fingers that it goes right) sell my m3 to an out of state buyer, which means I'm almost ready to pick up a brz.
I've been calling and (mostly) emailing all of the dealers in the San Diego and LA area. I've also been in contact with the two bigger out of state dealers: Lithia and Heuberger. I have found that some of the SoCal dealers are willing to price match or at least meet you part way to the out of state price. I even found one dealer who, a couple of weeks wouldn't budge on price, called me back and asked what kind of deal I could get out of state. They said they might be able to match or beat it. So, if you value time, convenience, etc. You might try this route. |

That, or they're simply running out of buyers willing to pay a markup.
No point in marking something up $3k if it's going to sit there on the showroom floor... Subaru allocates inventory based on the dealer's ability to move inventory, there's no secret formula to this. So to get new BRZs to sell, they'd have to prove they can sell them in the first place. -alex |

Try Irvine Subaru or Sierra Subaru. Irvine has a lot of stock, and Sierra just plain doesn't mark up in general (cause they're a smaller dealership & they're trying to get rid of all their cars as fast as they can for growth).
I bought mine in May and they initially didn't want to charge for mark up anyway. |
Another vote for Irvine Subaru, usually in stock and they don't mark up. Ask for Marcello - sold me two Subarus and one for my girlfriend. Great guy! If you go, tell him Pavel said hello.

are you looking at '13 or '14 models?
if it's a '13, im wondering if they're just trying to get rid of inventory so they can get '14s in. |

I don't really care either way. There isn't enough difference for me to care. 2013 probably because they are in stock. I'm selling my car on Thursday. Once the money clears I can buy/put down a down payment. So, hopefully by the 5th or 6th I can put down a deposit. Price and availability are my two biggest factors at the moment. I'm looking for a black or DGM manual premium. |

Got mine in SoCal for below MSRP. It's out there if you do your research, find something you want in stock and don't seem too desperate.
Good luck. |

regardless i'll still probably be buying out of state in a couple months |

I feel the OP has a good bit of leverage now to buy a BRZ in California at a fair price. When I started my search at the beginning of August, no dealer would quote anything under MSRP. Most were at least $1500 over. Now, I get email and texts from dealers offering to "work with me" on pricing. If you're patient and willing to play hardball, you might be able to score a nice deal from a California Subaru dealer. I don't, however, think you can get the pricing that out of state dealers like Heuberger can do - yet. |
