Does the 2008 STI Muffler fit the BRZ?

I know it's a rather silly question, but after seeing the 2008 Subaru WRX STI muffler, I really wonder if it would fit the BRZ/FR-S. Not only would it look nice with the quad tip exhaust, I'm certain that is more free flowing as it was engineered to flow 2.5L with 15+psi of boost. I really wonder if they do fit...they look identical!

Just looking at the picture, they aren't exactly the same. The hangers are different and would need modifying at the least. The exhaust is rather heavy as well. Aftermarket would be a better option for fitment and weight concerns.

Never knew they were similar. Might be a cheap option if someone goes with the TRD kit

You can always make it fit... just requires some money.

I was curious about this too... they are fairly similar.

No it would not, but very close. The flange off the muffler is slightly off, so you would need to cut and reweld. The hangers are really close as well. They will hang with the stock hangers, but you are pulling on them a bit.

I want to try this....

I did this with a 350z muffler...I'm happy with the results. I wanted something quiet with a little rumble from the Borla UEL and TSUDO High Flow Catback with no/minimal rasp.
