Nice, glad people are already tampering with it. It's great that Japan gets their cars before us, means we'll have lots of great parts as soon as these cars hit the streets in the U.S.!

With each passing day I get more and more excited about this car.

But one thing is scaring me - all the parts I want to buy on day 1 http://www.acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/hide.gif

Meh. I have found Mines tunes for other cars to be nearly worthless. Especially since this is a static reflash, which makes it also worthless to me.

Call me when someone has a working ROM editor.

x2 on the ROM editor.

Even so, I really like the fact that there is so much aftermarket attention given to this car so early in the release.

Agreed. Has anyone seen any discussion over on the openecu forums? If not, we should post up over there.

I was thinking about starting an official openecu thread in this forum as well as on romraider. Anyone have actual pictures of the ECU?

toxicdrift 04-02-2012 03:34 AM

how is a static reflash different from one from a rom edit of the ecu ? im guessing the rom edit customizes a tune much more?? forgive my lack of knowledge but can any1 elaborate on the subject?

They are both rewriting(reflashing) the ecu. The benefit to cracking the ecu via opensource(openecu/ecuflash) is that it is free other than the cable. It saves you from having to pay big bucks for an OTS map.

^This, plus the potential for datalogging, and ultimately full control over your fuel and timing maps. Even so, I think Justin hit the primary benefit - cost, and the lack thereof! :)
