Toyota + BMW = New Supra?
Toyota and Subaru have done their bit now to see what the germans have on the cards. Took many years for the 86 to come to fruition, I guess we all have something new to watch out for.

Shouldn’t these guys be in competition with one another? I know they don't cater for the same class but hell!..stop working together, make your own stuff!!..

New rumors and speculation...

Collaborations like that is nothing new at all and only good could come from it. |
..
nah, don't like it. The companies love it. They can spend less and make more. At the end we always loose.. can't wait for the debate...it's a bmw...NO it's a Toyota...what? they get the batteries from Renault?....lol |

Also, do you have a problem with Toyota and Subaru having worked together to make the 86/BRZ? Did we lose because of it? |
When we get it in the States it will probably be badged a Yugo!
|
Haha they can call it the Dork for all I care, as long as it's RWD and awesome.
|
@sav....you really like to debate, don't you...
Toyota has some shares in Subaru...thats fine... but anyway...don't want to waste my time...you win... |
It's not about winning, I'd just like to be able to understand your thinking behind the "At the end we always loose.." comment.

Be thankful they're not teaming up with Isuzu. :D |

Didn't Isuzu team with Lotus for the FWD Elan? |

Toyota and Subaru achieved something very special in the 86... Now having owned Toyota and BMW I'm dying to see what they can do together... And most of all, if this is what it takes for Toyota to build a new Supra - bring it on! :party0030: |
change is good. Seeing that large manufacturers are willing to pool resources and expertise can only be a good thing for the masses.
Im quiet happy to hear that Toyota is expanding the development fronts. Quiet frankly they have alot of catching up with the rest of the guys on the performance models. The development of the 86 has revived the true enthusiast in us all. however I do have some dislikes to it. IMO if car manufacturers are teaming up it should be to develop a new model altogether, if Toyota is to brand the outcome of this collaboration as the Supra I fear many (myself included) will see this as a shamble to the legacy the Supra holds. As much as i hate to say it play with the 86 since its new and has many possibilities for the future. Build a 4 door or cabrio, ruin the chassis and balance, throw some Renault batteries in it. its a new frontier and sometimes new isn't always good but exploring is always worth while. Just don't fix what ain't broken. |
