silencer on muffler delete pipe
 

Ok, this is a very weird question, but probably a question from everyone with a race pipe muffler delete.

All race pipe muffler delete are LOUD. it's so loud that it violates my local autox 92db limit. I still want to run it because it saves lots like 20lb easily.

I wanted to add a silencer on it. but seems like silencers are made for exhaust tips with 3.5" to 4" diameter only. The race pipe is only 2.5".

Suggestions?

How much over the limit are you? You could try having a small muffler spliced inline. A bolt in silencer will greatly reduce the flow and you'd probably be better off with the extra weight of the stock muffler over the greatly restricted flow with the silencer.
