Just checked the tracking and it looks like it will be arriving tomorrow... It's already in the city. :D

Khazzy 02-12-2014 02:51 AM

Nice! Post up the pics when installed! Mine will be sitting at my apartment for a few months before I get to install them.

Will definitely do! It shows that it's in Customs so I hope it isn't too much of a delay...

chanomatik 02-12-2014 12:35 PM

Soooo... Yuki just informed me that my order will take ONE month because of the fender garnish. Man, I can't win with Crystal Black Silica! It's like when I ordered my BRZ the same time as everyone else, but it took 6 months before it arrived as the first black BRZ. :( Black Alaskan Problems. haha

Anyways, I can't wait to see pics of these installed on other people's rides.

Wow. Are they(Subaru) making them when they meet a certain number of orders at the factory or something?

Well if that was the case then I would think my shipping date would be indeterminate. Saying it's a month out leads me to believe they're making and shipping them in batches. Fade to Black.

OrbitalEllipses 02-12-2014 12:41 PM

Does it bother anyone that the title it "Ts parts" when it's actually "tS"?

Yeah I keep reading it as "BRZ Transsexual Parts".

chanomatik 02-12-2014 12:52 PM

Correction: Yuki's reply reads "more than 1 month". Grrrrrr

Actually this is most likely true. It was this way when I bought my STi muffler. They needed to receive a number of orders before assembling all at once. It's more cost effective for them to do it this way since the overall production numbers is so low.

After I read "more than 1 month" I realized his idea was probably right and that you are too. I asked Yuki if they could separate my order since I ordered all the STI bits minus suspension and I don't want to have them waiting on a limited edition fender garnish. I already got my flat black interior pieces and I want the tS gloss black ones to compare and have paint-matched if possible. Plus my STI badges are in that order as well as a scarf. Mmmmm scarf...

Well, it's basically that idea of, "If they don't currently make something you want, then build it yourself." There is no USDM BRZ tS, so we're relegated to building our own. Plus it's admiration.

We need some vtec stickers. Those make your d grow.

Keep being sorry. We'll still do it coz we can, we love it, and don't see anything as out of place because of how we see this branding in a unified way much different than how people like you see it. Must suck to not be a part of the JDM/OEM+ BRZ mafia. :p

To each their own. I love my OEM+ BRZ parts on my car. Turbo badge? Subaru makes those? I want one!:bonk:

chanomatik 02-13-2014 12:28 PM

Okay guys, I got more specific info from Yuki concerning my order. I'm sharing because anyone else looking at tS parts should know this as well.

Quote:

Dear Chano,

Thank you so much for your reply. I’ve just talked to Subaru/STi Japan about your order and found it out some more information. Fender Garnish and rear ornament will be here Feb 19th which is one more week and all the other parts are already at there office. However, 484-036-009 (PANEL, VENTILATOR GRILLE) takes more than 1 month. Please let me know how you want me to send out the parts to you.

Yours sincerely,

Yuki
Japanparts.com
I'm having Yuki send everything once the fender garnish and rear ornament are in stock. I'm not holding up an entire order for the vent rings! :bonk: Those will just get backordered.

I hope this info helps anyone else looking at the fender garnish that hasn't had theirs ship yet.

mav1178 02-13-2014 12:58 PM

Out for delivery today on mine.

And to the other person posting about being lame for throwing on badges and whatnot, no one here is criticizing your decision for a gas cap vinyl. To each their own.

mine tomorrow !!! (WRB)

chanomatik 02-13-2014 04:37 PM

Sweet! So does it just look like a larger vent piece cover just slapped over the stock fender garnish? Is it plastic or aluminum?

DaJo 02-13-2014 04:39 PM

Damn. Mine says "Out For Delivery" since 7am today... Still waiting.

Pretty sure it's plastic and you would have to take off the stock vent for this. It's a part replacement.

Khazzy 02-13-2014 04:41 PM

beautiful

Edit! Mine were also delivered today. I am unfortunately not home to show off the beauty. I have a few more months before I lay eyes upon them but they were be cozy in the apartment along with the other parts waiting for me.

Thanks. I knew it was a replacement, but some were curious if it was just an overlay like the chrome trim piece or somehow integrated as one piece with the fender garnish.

Sorry, I got a little too excited after seeing that picture lol. :bonk:

Edit: just got them. They are in fact two pieces.

As suspected. Thanks for confirming! Doesn't sway me either way, it's a must-have for anyone collecting anything from STI. Congrats!

Burrcold 02-13-2014 06:08 PM

I hate that it's a stuck on piece, and not a full molded garnish. There are far too many dummies out there that will just pull that off. :( Looks amazing though!

I thought that about my STI valve stem caps, but so far they're intact still after almost 6 months of ownership!

Same thing with the TRD piece:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...91&postcount=1

Honestly, with these things it's hard to put on parts and think it won't get damaged or stolen. But with many things (up to and including car ownership), it's just a matter of you being okay with mods.

Such is life. If stuff gets stolen or damaged, either I insure it or I don't pay to have the extra parts insured. Either way I live with it.

Hmmm...so it looks like it's just an overlay like the chrome trim with a screw to help secure it better.

I wish they would just sell that piece separately cause I'm poor. :D

Haven't put it on yet but just wanted to show what the STi tS fender garnish looks like in comparison to the TRD shark fin:
