Did any people know how they mount the STI badge in thefront?

I thought that they will release the new grille for that.

However, I did not see the new grille on the list.

Thanks.

Thanks for the compliment. Sent the wheel and tire specs via PM so as not to deviate from original thread topic.

Thanks,

@86BRZ, I used Nippon plastic primer before painting the black parts red so that the black plastic will not show through and to ensure the best paint adhesion to the plastic. Sent you PM regarding the wheel specs.

Thanks! i made a custom bracket and attached it to the frame. i made 2 brackets that surrounded that part of the grille and have to use clamps to pinch them tight. There is a flat lip underneath that trim piece that can slide part of the bracket on. Here is an extremely rough idea. I used strong mounting tape and its holding incredible. http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/...s6c82387e.jpeg

Oh and i got mounting brakets which came in a straight 2"x 9" bar from home depot

Nice suds on that man! Are you using a foam gun? If so what kinda soap? I have a gilmour foam gun with Mothers California Gold but I get nowhere near that level of suds.

@switchlanez @thermobox @DSOmegaX

STI Garnish Front Fender = $286.85 (Pre-painted CBS, WRB, LR & SWP)

http://www.japanparts.com/images/Ima...ase=1&no=48187

:confused0068:

They also released the official "STI" badge from the tS.
http://www.japanparts.com/images/Ima...ase=1&no=48188

I think you're still better off getting the 2008+ WRX STI badge since it's about $40 shipped.

Someone on NASIOC BRZ Forum just posted it up. I got so excited that I had to let the other guys know. Give us pics when it comes in!

Will certainly do! This was definitely the finishing piece that would compliment the STI kit!

Yeah was not expecting to buy these....but they are for sale now and cannot pass it up!

DSOmegaX 12-22-2013 06:52 AM

Just a thought to those with DGM, SSM, or GBS cars... I'm sure that the actual sti trim piece is held on by adhesive so most likely you could just remove it and stick it on to your cars. Of course wouldn't be able to verify that until the piece is here.

If that was the case, I would be much more inclined to just buy the trim piece instead of the entire vent. If it's just a stick on trim piece like the chrome accessory, this is damn expensive (so most if the cost would be paying for the color matched vent surround). But nice nevertheless :)

DaJo 12-22-2013 10:43 AM

By the looks of it, I'm pretty sure it's a completely different molded piece.

The entire vent is different or the trim is separate?

I really hope that the trim is a sticker cause there's no way I'm paying $300 for the vents unless the ones I have get wrecked in an accident, which with my luck, might be as early as next summer.

Side note: I can't believe I missed out on the STi bear again! Fuck!:mad0260:

I think the STI vent is all 1 piece. We'll find out once one of us gets it.

I want those Recaro's and will pay dearly for them...

I think those are Sportster CS seats with an airbag built into them... if they are more than 3k or so I might just go with sportster CSs.

Yeah they are sportster cs. I heard that recaro is unable to provide seats with side airbags in them to actual customers due to liability reasons(?) so you only see them on cars that actually have them as oem equipment. In either case, I'm thinking of getting them from recaro as the black/alcantara is a match to the interior rather than the gray sti used.

chanomatik 12-22-2013 07:56 PM

Pretty sure if they're asking for paint preference then it's the entire vent piece that you're paying for.

I can't wait until my next paycheck.

This is just the 2008+ WRX STI front badge that people have been fabricating brackets for to make them stay.

IMHO, I'd ditch the big chunky STI badges since our's are not the actual "TS" model... Don't want to come off as a poser.

I'm trying to find a source for the Sportster CSs. Let me know if you have any ideas. Perhaps a group buy may be in order?

I am ALL about posing. Not only do I have an STi key fob cover, STi license plate frames, USDM STi valve stem covers, but I also fake STi seat belt pads.:party0030:

I take it to the EDGE. Plus the only thing we can't get from the tS model (or even replicate) is the gauge cluster that says, "STI". Otherwise everything is available in some form or another. Oh yeah, and no "tS" badge yet...

Not really a fan. Looks like the USDM Chrome Fender Trim with an STi stamped in it. If I were to take off the TRD Carbon Fender Trim, I'd replace it with the ABS Painted version. Thanks for keepin me in the loop though!!

It's actually less chromey and longer than the chrome one:

http://subaruonlineparts.com/images/E7110CA000.jpg

You can see where the edges of the STI one reaches further towards the front and has a much smaller gap towards the back (nearest the door). I hear ya, though. For the price, I want it to be bigger. Status. haha

And no prob! You were the first three guys I thought of that might be interested. Thanks for considering since I know you'll share the info with others if it comes up in other conversation.

Mine is on order, will be posting a side-by-side comparison when I get it.

Is the logo moulded in, or just printed on the chrome?
