So we don't have to wait till June? Confused.

I thought I had to wait until June, until Subaru parts manager told me, they can get it within 1-2 weeks.

CARNZ 04-02-2014 03:40 PM

edit: he replied as i was typing lol..

Subaru of Canada may already have the item in stock, when I checked yesterday the SOA ETA was June 10th

Turbo95eg6 04-02-2014 03:47 PM

That's cool that they will allow the discount, I doubt they would apply it towards wheels though… I wonder when suspension parts will be available? Is there anyway to look up these parts online, through subaru?

the service manager at my dealership was really nice. Told me if he could get the wheels, the discount would apply as well :)

The USDM body kit and STI wheels were spotted at our recent local car show.

Turbo95eg6 04-02-2014 04:09 PM

Did you ask if it was lowered? It looks like in that pic it's running the stock suspension. I wonder if the STI springs will come with the package...

no, I didn't go to the show, my friend did, I stole this pics from him :P

They're stock height, and running 17's. stock tires abit stretched

Andrew025 04-02-2014 04:21 PM

I'm hoping the STi springs will be available as well.

syrs_finest_frs 04-02-2014 04:58 PM

@ucsmfu what dealership was this at? I want to order :) do you know how long this sale will last?

Baramzisyan 04-02-2014 05:02 PM

Yes that and the trim under it.

phuthinhon 04-02-2014 05:32 PM

I called my dealer asking about the wheels and they said that they passed orders for the 2015 models already and they won't be able to get them yet but the way he spoke, it sounded like this should be an option for the 2015 models... He didn't sound clueless about them and he definitely knew what I was talking about!

Hope they have the silver and gunmetal options for the wheels.

phuthinhon 04-02-2014 08:39 PM

any news on the wheels?

DSOmegaX 04-02-2014 09:49 PM

It's hard to tell if that's stock height actually. Unfortunately if you run stock tires on the wheels it does stretch a little, so it creates a larger gap in the wheel well:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1366330047

This is why I changed out to 18s eventually:

i want 18s!!!

do you have pics when you had the 17's installed ?

Thanks

krayzie 04-03-2014 07:24 AM

This looks like Subaru Of America / Canada will be selling the STI Performance Package option for the BRZ similarly to what they already have in Japan, which are the 17" black wheels + full body kit, but not sure if they will throw in the flexible tower bar and flexible draw stiffeners.

I've noticed that at least in Canada, the dealers do sell the flexible tower bar for the Forester (without STI branding).

definitely looks better in 18s!

Anybody was able to get the Parts Number of SOA for the wheels? :)

krayzie 04-03-2014 02:05 PM

I think once you run side skirts you will need 18" otherwise the car will just look too big / the wheels will look too small with 17".

I don't even know if I should buy the front lip because I'm sticking with 17" just so my brakes won't look too small (imo).

jkonquer 04-03-2014 03:45 PM

if you build a 2015 WRX on Subaru.com, under accessories, you can add what looks like a black brz STI wheel as option for $1,583. not sure if they are 5x100 or not.

CARNZ 04-03-2014 03:50 PM

The 2015 WRX is 5x114.3

phuthinhon 04-03-2014 04:31 PM

it's like they do everything for us not to get those wheels...

Oh you can get them... Just gotta pay $2k shipped from Japan. They look really good, but for the size and offset, I'm not sold. Too sunk. That's why I really like the replica ASGA Spirit wheels. Unfortunately they're out of silver ones.

You're probably in the wrong thread if you're into rocking replica's.

Meh? I'm rocking a replica STI lip kit, but I have a bunch of actual tS parts. Therefore am I not allowed in here? People come here to be inspired. I'm not sure if you've seen the ASGA Spirit wheels, but at 18x8 +40, 21 lbs and around $800 for wheels that look exactly like the JDM version with better fitment, it's kinda hard to ignore. You can be a purist, sure, but I will guarantee you that no one else will care that you're not rocking the authentic thing. People are already giggling when we put STI parts on a non-turbo'd car.

Either they get it or they don't. Either you get it or you won't.

DSOmegaX 04-03-2014 08:33 PM

Here's a fun fact. You can't actually get the wheels from the tS car unless someone with one sells them. This is because those are actually BBS while the available wheels are Enkeis. Why they had them made exactly the same in terms of looks (I assume the BBS version is a lot lighter) is beyond me

Theyre also out of the black ones. I contacted them and they said theyre having issues with their providers so looking into getting a new provider for the wheels...

Oh snap! I didn't know that! Makes sense. I'm still not crazy about 18x7.5, but that's actually not even a big deal because I'm looking at putting 225 width tires on my 18x8.5 BBS wheels and I doubt anyone looking at the car would actually care about the difference in width. Thanks for that info.

Oh snap! I didn't know that either! I hope they can find someone good that makes different sizes. Do you think Subaru made them stop somehow?

I've never heard of a lightweight BBS wheel to be honest. They are twice the price probably because they are forged.

I never knew there are replicas, no wonder I was asked if my wheels are fake. I'll just buy another set of 17" STI for winter in gunmetal again then.
