For steering wheel, I found the WRX dimensions to be better. Smaller circumference, thicker, and flat bottomed. The material used feels and grips better too. The seating position is nowhere near the perfect position the BRZ has though when driving.

Man you're slick! Was hoping to catch you in a "faux STI" build, but there you go again, being legit!

Not sure what you mean by smaller circumference for the WRX.

Google:
2015 WRX Steering Wheel Diameter = 14.5"
2013+ BRZ Steering Wheel Diameter = 14.4"

So your WRX is a CVT? I haven't seen anything from the S4 to show that's it's different, but I'm hoping/assuming it's like the Levorg interior. Ermagherd, if you could swap in the Levorg GT-S interior into your WRX, WOULD BE HAWT!!! Could not hate on Levorg STI parts on your WRX.

Haha you know me. I go official =D. The nice thing is that at least some of the major parts are already available here in the US, such as the full lip kit, catback exhaust (one thing I noticed is that the WRX system is unresonated while the WRX STi system is resonated. prolly has to do with the WRX having EL headers and the STi having UEL headers), etc. I have some small pieces on order already like the push start button, battery tie down, radiator and oil caps. And I see the strut tower and draw stiffener on the jdm sti catalog for the car. What I really want are the JDM 18" wheels (they remind me of my old GTI's Detroit wheels but in gloss black). Since the Levorg is pretty much a WRX wagon, I'm sure anything in that catalog is translatable or will have equivalent parts made.

But yeah, the WRX S4 by all accounts looks like the JDM WRX CVT model. I definitely want to pick the front grille and the fog light housing that contains the LED DRL bar for the car. Just waiting to see what else is on it when its released (next week?).

Update on my STi springs, so they were in fact all the same, there were no silencers on any of the springs, so they were all the front ones...luckily my friend agreed to buy em of me and we're gonna make another order for the rears...I also got the rubber skirt for the front lip, but is it supposed to be longer than the actual lip? I tried to do a test fit but they don't seem to be the same size, did you guys encounter this problem as well?

Wow they must be hiring kids doing summer part-time again. :sigh:

The rubber lip is the same part for some other models as well (i.e. Legacy). If you take a look at the instructions that came with the rubber lip, it will tell you what you are supposed to do and how to go about installing it.

I still haven't attempt this yet, too much cutting and tailoring.

yeah I'm too lazy to cut and measure it out, haha...I'll just drive carefully until I have more time to install the rubber lip.

Yeah I've had my rubber lip for over a month now... I'd like to install it before the snow falls, so I have until mid October to first week of November the latest. I already cracked my replica lip, though...

I wish there was a pre-measured template inside the kit (similar to the template included with the beatsonic sharkfins) to take the measuring part out of the equation, haha.

I've scraped my front lip a few times and the sound is worrisome when it bottoms out, but luckily no damage just some scratches underneath. I find that even on very small curbs out of parking lot entrances I need to tip toe my way out (i.e. going 45 degrees and not going straight), the suspension has way more travel than I expect.

I need one of those bears.

Where do you guys see a new STI Performance catalog for the new WRX / STI?

Looks like the draw stiffener for the Levorg is only installed on the right side of the chassis, like the Legacy.

I just realized the other day that if I shine a torch under the hood on both sides of the transmission, I can see the draw stiffeners so I can keep an eye on them. They still look great when I inspected them last week during tranny fluid change. :D

ModalSoul37 08-23-2014 01:28 PM

So when did everyone badge their car as an "STi"...I already have the aero kit and the springs will be installed as soon as they get here, the exhause will follow a month or so after...with the exhuast, will my car be worthy of the "STi" moniker? haha...I don't want to get "that guy" who just throws badges on a car...

DSOmegaX 08-23-2014 02:00 PM

My badge was one of my last things haha

Khazzy 08-23-2014 02:22 PM

I want to throw the badge on but I don't at the same time.
