WTB: Driveshaft Shop (or lighter) driveshaft

For cheap. I'd prefer new, but used it just fine at the right price. Although I don't see anyone selling a used one outside of a totaled or back-to-stock part out.

I'm not in too big of a hurry to get this, so I can wait for a good deal. I did just spontaneously purchase pulleys though, so now I am a bit more interested in investing in a driveshaft than I was just last week.

Not interested in PST, just in case anyone tries offering one. Unless you want to sell it to me so cheap I can sell it for a profit, in which case, what are you thinking?

haha, we are thinking exactly alike right now. tho im debating on CF or aluminum. its lik a 5.5 lbs difference for half the cost new

5.5lbs is not worth the savings to me. I'm trying to go all the way. I think the aluminum one is bigger around, so if you have it and a big fat exhaust, you might have some problems. I don't plan on ever having a big fat exhaust though, so it's actually a non-issue for me.

didnt know it was bigger then OEM. it may not b lighter, but even at the same weight it is still a 1 piece instead of a 2 and that alone will make a difference

Does anyone have any idea why they split the driveshaft like they did. My RX-8, with the same transmission, had a single carbon fiber drive shaft from the factory. I sold it to buy a tow vehicle,(Ceyenne). Ironically, it had a two piece (Cardin) shaft and the Cardin shaft bearing was known for failure.

We have a Carbon Driveshaft Shop Shaft in stock but it's not at a good deal or used. :(

Does look good though

Indeed it does. Would ya'll be willing to do a one man group buy? Such as me, one man, buying a group of stuff? ~$3,000 worth.

If you're asking why the factory went with a two (I think it's two. Three?) piece driveshaft, there are a few threads hidden on this site where the topic comes up. I don't know if there's a dedicated thread to it, though. From what I remember, they did it to reduce Noise, Vibration, and Harshness - NVH.

I'm not 100% sure on that though. That's just what I think I remember reading from anonymous people on the internet.
