Just ordered my 4.56 final drive from Weir Performance. Should be here by the end of the week!!!

Here's the list I compiled with help from @Jeff Lange describing what all I'd need. Part numbers are on me so if anyone finds an error, please let me know so I can correct the list.

90179-20018 ... Pinion nut
90311-38070 ... Pinion seal
41231-24010 ... Pinion spacer
90366-35133 ... Pinion bearing*
90311-43009 ... Side seals (x 2)
41222-22010 ... Ring gear lock tabs (x 5)
12157-10010 ... Drain bolt gasket
SU003-00122 ... Fill bolt gasket
(listed above) ... Pinion bearing shims
(listed below) ... Diff washers**

*Note 1: Pinion bearing can potentially be reused if you or your shop has the removal tool and your bearing is still in serviceable condition. Replacement is recommended but not mandatory depending on these conditions.

**Note 2: Side washers might be needed depending on the new ring/pinion tolerances. If anyone has any input on this, please add to the discussion.

What new seals part number you need for the install?
How many shims did it come with?
I've read on 1 of the cusco tread that each car have different shims size.

The mechanic told me he used the old seals.
I didn't count how many seals it came with. It was in a small clear bag that I was afraid to open. The install is done but I am on business trip and will not be able to get the car until Thursday when I am back home.

pics? before and after dyno? thx!

I don't believe this mod will add anything in term of HP. It will just help the car accelerate faster.

Just drove my car around the block. Difinitly accelerate better. Mostly in 1-3 the gears are shorter than before. My guess, is gears became like MT from 1-3. Need to drive it on the high way to test 4-6 gears. I am very satisfied with this change.

Just got my Weir Performance 4.56 final drive and solid pinion spacer. He supplied shims for both. I'm going to buy a few more things before installing it but we've purchased from Weir before and his products are top notch!! We have his axles, final drive, and solid pinion spacer in my brother's AE86. Anyone wanting to do this mod should definitely get in touch with him. Everything for well under $400 shipped and I received it in 2 days!!!

Nice! Let us know how your install goes without the pinion bearing. For that price I'd have bought one without question, especially since he offers Koyo.

That's one of those things I still have to buy. I'm gonna get the pinion bearing, pinion seal, and a few other things.

if youre careful and low miles shouldnt be an issue if youre delicate with the press!
