Dead OEM fog light

I have the new OEM Scion fog lights, dealer-installed just a few weeks ago, and noticed last night that my passenger-side fog light is out.

Anybody else lose a bulb already? Seems much too soon to have burned out a bulb.

Anybody look into replacement bulbs yet?

There is absolutely no reason for this. If you can check the harness and wiring. If you can't take it to the dealer. If it's a burnt bulb, I would think it would be due to a poor install with greasy fingers.

I was having similar thoughts. The installer at the dealer didn't take the car over to the service bays, but did the install in the dirt-and-gravel back lot where they store cars. I don't recall him using gloves either.

Of course, these should actually be warrantied, but I'm not sure that I even want to bother going to the dealer. If I do, I might just take it to a different dealer.

Not the greatest timing either. I'm heading out for a road trip for the weekend, LA to Monterey and back, and it will likely be cool and foggy up there. :sigh:

Ah crap, sorry Dan. I just ran out and checked, both of mine are good. I'm with you, sounds like an installation fault. Either way it's a warranty item. Annoying, but hopefully a drive on SR 1 will compensate. If you have the time, a stop at Nepenthe is memorable. Pictures please!

Appreciate the suggestion, torq. We were planning to make our way through Big Sur, and that looks like an excellent place to stop.

Resisting the urge to start taking anything apart in hopes of it just being a loose connection. Supposed to head out within the hour...

If you don't mind me asking how much for the dealer installation.

I ordered the fogs with the car, and wasn't charged extra for installation. They just got installed at the dealer because I had to wait for them (mostly wait for the 10 Series-specific button panel). I believe the charge was $490.

I just got my fog lights in from the Toyota parts warehouse. It came with everything you need to install them except for the instructions. That's no big deal i am just going to it to them and have them install in this Monday. I only payed 310 for the parts and i was told another 40$ for install.

I personally dont car to much for the yellow look of things so i am look to get matching hid lights for lows, highs and fogs .
