If you say "substitute A for B", then it means A replaces B. That's what the release is saying.

I know for a fact mine went away because my FRS was started (warm) next to another guy who just brought his in at the same time and his car was MUCH MUCH louder where mine was almost dead quiet.

Have any proof of no crickets in 2014 models?

going to be some time before anyone has a definitive answer. I have ~300mi on mine now with cheapo Costco (93 octane) fuel and no crickets yet.
