The issue apparently affects any FR-S with a VIN# ending in 09026 or lower. Newer vehicles are not affected.

That's news to those of us with newer cars...that chirp. And it's likely that yours is going to chirp again eventually too.

Okay so I thought that link was a recent article. Well I went to Toyota for first service at 7500 miles 2 weeks ago and the service guy said there was a "NEW" fix for it that came out "1 or 2 months ago" his words not mine so that would make it June or July which is more recent then that article. Wish I had more info sorry guys.

But what about the new model after that? If you are always waiting for the next model you will be waiting for ever.

This is the thought that made me get the 2013. There MAY be a bump in power for the 2015. You simply do not know, no matter who says what. I think it is very smart to wait if you have some solid evidence that things are going to change but I didn't want to wait for something that just MAY come.

Really, I heard that the hockey sticks that are coming out in 2015 are supposed to be way better than the ones in 2014, so ill wait. Better yet, I heard the PS5 is supposed to be way better than the PS4, I'll wait for that too. It's your choice but if you keep waiting for what's better, you'll never buy anything. On that note, I think I'll go take a cruise in my breeze :)

No mention of the track this time around? Muy interesante.

Exactly, plus by then who knows....the 16x from mazda might be way better!
The current BRZ is capable of delivering amazing performance with the right mods. so why not get it? I think toyobur did everything right other than their recepie of an everchanging vehicle. that puts people like me in dilemma on when to spend their hard earned money. Futhermore, if you are going to make changes to the vehicle to "keep it competitive" Offer those options to previous model owners for a "no-profit-cost" and under-warranty...then most of us won't be afraid of buying at the "wrong time".

I mean I really badly want to make a purchase...and I plan to do so in december.....but i dont think i can wait another year.....agh:mad0259:

The good news is that I have to wait till 2015! Current life priorities say so but the brz savings account will be full by 2015.

Looking forward to joining the BRZ club! I put an order with Clint (Heurberger) - even with transportation, price is phenomenal!

There aren't many changes, but the timing is financially right for me to make the purchase. Pretty excited!

I don't think they have a fix yet. I took my car in July to the dealer and guess what? I got the crickets back. I will add as I have in the main thread for this issue that Lucas Oil really seems to work.

Meh. I'm really in no hurry to buy. I enjoy my current ride, and it gives me time to save some money for the essentials (RPF1s, tires, header, exhaust, tune).

here's a link to a article talking about the official fix: http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ine-chirp.html

That was posted in Sept 2012. It's been 11 months since then, and the fuel pump replacement has been proved time and time again to be an incorrect fix. Unfortunately, chirps still exist. :(

I'm also considering an order with him. Still hoping I can find a good deal in SoCal though. The more money I save, the more aftermarket accessories I can get.
