FS/FT for BRZ/FRS 911 Targa
Now that I have finished doing ALL the midlife maintenance over the last year on my Targa, I have the itch to try something else. as is typical, I maintain cars like I'm going to own them forever, but then move on.
This 3rd gen Targa top is very cool - huge opening, very quiet when open, and has the unique rear hatch that makes the rear area useable (coupes have fixed rear glass). Integrated, powered shade works well. It is clean, solid (no rattles), and wants for nothing. I bought it from Motorwerks (Porsche dealer) in Barrington, IL, and have owned it for two years, and put about 13,000 miles on it. In that time, I had only a coil pack, and a battery go on it - very reliable. I have done all the expensive maintenance - most in the last year: LN Engineering Hybrid Ceramic IMS Bearing update (old bearing was perfect) New Sachs Clutch New Porsche dual mass flywheel All new belts All new hoses New Water pump New Battery New key with integrated fob (have 2 keys) Replaced all coil packs New air/oil separator New seals, including RMS New coolant/AC charge/gearbox oil/synthetic engine oil every 4-5K miles New Continental Extreme Contact DW tires New Koni FSD shock absorbers New brake pads New Battery New Wipers New air/pollen filters Clean Carfax, with no accidents. The previous owner also put quite a bit into the car: Nice repaint in original polar silver ( I put a clear bra over the unblemished nose). Painted the wheel centers gloss black (which has held up perfectly, and looks grea). The wheel centers are also black, but with a full color Porsche logo - all OEM quality. Quality tint body colored center console and dash center surround Porsche Tequipment aluminum pedals with rubber nubs. It runs very strong, and clean, gets phenomenal mileage (averaged over 28MPG on Lake Michigan circle tour). Original sticker was over $82K Options: 18" Carrera lightweight wheels Dual power/memory/multilevel lumbar support driver & passenger seats. Premium, supple/gathered leather Premium radio with CD changer Porsche Stability Management (PSM) 3 spoke steering wheel It has one significant chip (pictured). Interior is in great shape. The drivers seat has some wrinkles, but no tears, or abrasions. Kelly Blue Value $32,267 for excellent, $31667 for very good Priced aggressively at $27,900 given all the expensive maintenance is done, and the excellent condition - this car is good to go for a long time. I would consider a trade for a low mileage, clean BRZ or FRS. May consider even trade for tastefully modified car - wheels/tires, etc. http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...DSC_0447-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...30_205200_918- http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5722_144-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5828_381-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5754_831-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5246_626-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5359_248-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5420_808-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5619_879-L.jpg http://sterlingdoc.smugmug.com/Other...5900_303-L.jpg |

How many miles on it and what year is it? More info would be good, I might be interested
Uh derp I just saw the mileage on the picture of the dash. |
Porsche 996 (1998-2005). Targa models were produced since 2002.
This one is equipped with the 3.6L H6. Judging from the KBB prices, I'd say it's probably a 2003 or so with a few extras. Looks to be in clean condition. Seller seems legit. This is a good deal. GLWS man. |
Thanks guys. I go by the same user name on Rennlist, and am active there for several years. It is a great car, and an amazing amount of performance for the money. 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, 174 MPH. It is a 2002. I may well regret selling it, but I want a car I can track, and use year round for a while - something very different for a bit.

I'm on my phone and can't tell, auto or manual? Looks manual but not sure.
Interested in a Firestorm red FRS, black motegi rims, TRD struts, Eibach springs, TRD exhaust, Greddy intake, fully loaded? Around 4k miles, seen the 1/4 mile strip once and conservatively driven for a 15.2. Let me know! |
It is a manual. Potentially interested, but Texas is a long way from Illinois! Road trip?
