How to repair your rear fog lamp lower tab for 0$
If you've done the rear fog light DIY you may have notice that the plastic on the unit is really easy to break... On colder temperature is even worst.
So yeah, I've broke the lower tab on my rear fog/backup unit. Even if they are 2 bolts and 2 clips holding it, without it is not flush to the bumper. I've made this easy fix that cost a zip tie. I'll spend 200$ on other thing than that! You need: - 10MM socket - Soldering Gun - Cutter - Flat screwdriver - A zip tie First remove the unit from the bumper. 2 bolts at the top, 2 clip at left and right and the lower t... oh wait, you've broken it dumbass. :) Now drill 2 little holes on this section of the lamp, just big enought to place a zip tie in. http://www.quebecfrs.com/forums/MGalleryItem.php?id=529 Cut approx this lenght each side of the zip tie. http://www.quebecfrs.com/forums/MGalleryItem.php?id=530 Now with the soldering gun melt each side of the zip tie to stick it there. Clean your soldering gun before doin' that! http://www.quebecfrs.com/forums/MGalleryItem.php?id=532 http://www.quebecfrs.com/forums/MGalleryItem.php?id=531 After that, reinstall everything. You'll hear the magic "click". So now you've repair your rear fog lamp/backup unit! Enjoy this picture of my thumb. http://www.quebecfrs.com/forums/MGalleryItem.php?id=533 |
