Track or Driver's Clinic

Curious to know if there are tracks in the region where you can drive your car on a track. Do one-day clinics or drivers schools exist?

Looking to learn about driving efficiently and enhance skills. Also, looking to finally have some asphalt where I can unleash the car on a track or other terrain.

I think they offer that at Lime Rock but not 100% sure

Sign up for autox school for this weekend and/or the 86 meet on Sept 8.

People used to be able to do it in Foxboro, but not for a few years.

From what I can see on MotosportReg.com, the driver schools are starting to wind down.

If you're looking for advance driving techniques, there's schools that teach that stuff...but I think you have to use a supplied vehicle and not your own. The plus side is that you get to beat the s**t out of a Camry for half a day and you get a discount on your insurance!

I think at this point late in the season you are better off going to a local autocross and driving with an instructor.

I think it's called the Advanced Driver Training discount. The course is something like $300-350, and through my insurance company I can get up to 5% off so it would only take 3 or 4 years to offset the cost in savings.

Try Chin Motorsports at Watkins Glen over Labor Day. Plenty of info on how they run their events on their website.

There are plenty of HPDE's left this season.

NHMS IMHO is the best track for a Green Bean to learn on. All the corrners are on/off ramp type speeds ala 30-70 mph. I have over 150 track days at NHMS.

I teach for all the car clubs in NE and our cars are also a blast at NHMS. I took mine up once this season. I usually run my 400WHP 2011 EV0 X MR at the track.

I also strongly suggest autocrossing with some of the local clubs, it will provide you a safe enviroment to flog your car and learn both its and your limits.

The two big clubs in NE are Boston BMW and SCCA

PS
At my BMW Auto X school their were at least 5-6 FT86's on 8/18. Who on this board was there?
