You just won $25k in credit for parts. How will you spend it?
If you won $25,000 that you had to spend on your BR-S, how would you spend it? You can be as thorough (factoring in shipping and labor) or as lazy (estimating part costs) as you want. Keep the $25,000 limit though. That part is crucial. I thought this would be fun for everybody and I'm also interested to see how people would spend the money.

This.
And a good pair of vintage SSR mesh wheels. Still waiting for more suspension options intill stock shocks crap out. |
My BRZ would be turned into a 500HP track monster with wheels, tires, full roll cage, racing seats, the works!
|
I would get...
$10,000 - Top secret custom work $1,900 - Reverie XC seat $2,000 - Custom roll cage installed (I've actually been quoted that by my local shop, so the price is legit) $445 - Harness $1,689 - Lexan-windows.com full kit $3,600 - Amuse R1000 + front pipe $625 - Borla UEL $750 - Mfactory 4.67 final drive $915 - Driveshaft Shop carbon fiber drifeshaft $1,000 - Clutch and flywheel (undecided on which ones) $350 - Shorai battery $900 - E85 tune $230 - Kartboy short shifter $500 - Pulleys (Raceseng + Tomioka mix 'n match) ------------------------------------------------ $24,904 |
Shit. I didn't even get brakes in all that.
|
I would take it to Rev Works and tell them spend it however you want towards my car and make it crazy.

Not sure on the pricing for everything but.
3sgte swap making 400hp~ Eibach R1's and all the other suspension goodies. Molded rocket bunny kit or something that mimics that MV designs FRS maybe. I would like it to be more subtle though. Some kind of wheel and tire combo. Should come out to 20kish at this point. That's all i could come up with for now since I've never dreamed of this kind of budget. lol |
id buy a visconti tune.
|
buy a second one ( i know i went over the limit) garage it and keep it under 10k miles, sell in 20 years for roi.
|
@gatorbushmen just won this thread.

keep dreaming people

Also, a K-pro to fully run the s2k engine with a full set of Honda codes, and the appropriate harnesses to retain all other BRZ systems (except traction/stability control). Then, boost it. Oh, I think I might have spent closer to 40k... |

Labor is for suckas.

I'd sell the 25k worth of credit for 20k cash, and then spend the money on minor body/suspension mods. Then i'd take the rest (probably 10K) and either invest it or just chill knowing that I have 10k in the bank on a rainy day.
That's the middle road to me. I wouldn't do much engine mods since I don't mind if the car's speed. it's not THAT slow. |
The point is to see specifically what mods people would do. You're not allowed to sell the credit, but you don't have to spend it all at once.
|
Since we are dreaming probably a V8 swap. But probably not enough in the budget
|
shit id be practical. spend 2k or so on some new headers and a tune then pay it off!
|
I'd spend 21K on all the TRD stuff including, kit, all chassis stiffeners, braces etc, dampers and springs, all the TRD BBK components with TRD pads, and all the TRD caps.
The rest of the money goes to SSR GTF-01 with some direzzas. If there's anything left, squeeze in some TRD oil filters. Seats and steering wheel would come out of my own pocket. Since I don't have free 25k to blow on the car, not a single penny will be spent on TRD Stuff.... |
Lifetime* supply of tires, brake pads and fluids for track abuse.
I mean lifetime of the car, $25k in tires should last at least 10 years of hard driving if you're conservative. |

25k on fire extinguishers joke here.
|
I'd send it to Crawford for a full build and throw some HRE's / BBS LM's on it. Maybe have a friend manufactuer some CF bits?
Also I'd load it up with all of our LED/HID products lol Nick C. |

AP Racing Endurance kit
TE37SL+Advan AD08's Drive to SoCal Run at Buttonwillow Suck Have @CSG Mike help me choose a coilover that best suits my driving INability+ teach me how not to suck at driving (maybe that before the coilovers) Buy said coilovers Drive back to East Coast Spend rest of money on PDX's HPDE's, and Time Trials But in real life put it towards grad school |
It would no longer be street legal.
$25k and it's full race car. Would probably prep around 10:1 weight/power or better and prep it for the 25 hours of ThunderHill. Honestly... I'd need an additional $25k to get it where I want it to be for Thunderhill. |

Another option could be to just drop off your FRS/BRZ with a 25k check, and just let us do our thing with it...

Sure it isn't as fun but equipment management is usually more important than that extra .1 second per lap. Besides, I was under the assumption this was personal/hobby pursuits, $25k of tires wouldn't get you very far in most competitive series. Most people aren't replacing tires yearly either, even with track days :party0030: |
Uh... I'd buy the car.
:D |
Cams.
