Cricket Type Noise From Inside

Hi all,

Not another random noise thread!!! I apologize but bear with me here, spending that much on a car, could be paranoid and would like to find out if anyone has experienced the same thing or check for it.

Manual car. I've been driving around the past few weeks without the stereo on, and have noticed that there's a very small, very short cricket type noise coming from the inside the cabin. I am getting crickets as well, and these two noises can occur at the same time, so it's definitely not the HPFP.

It is really barely noticeable, and no way I can record it. It seems to be coming from under the dash or the footwell area, but hard to pinpoint. I can't seem to control when the noise comes. Only thing is that it only happens when the car is moving. It doesn't happen at idle. The intervals in between when it happens is very random. Sometimes every 3 seconds, sometimes not for 10 mins. Again, its a very small chirp noise that is barely noticeable. If you haven't, try driving without the stereo on and let me know if you hear it.

Might catch some flak for being paranoid, but hopefully some of you guys can put my mind at ease.

Thanks in advance for any help!:thanks:

Maybe it is a real cricket...

Probably the A/C chirp. It should be a quick, single chirp unlike the constant crickets...

Next time you hear it, immediately turn off your compressor and listen for it again.

It is as you described, a quick single chirp. Thanks, I'll give that a shot! It's been killing me in the back of my head. Really wanted to know what it was even if it's not detrimental.:thanks:
