Stalling and Crickets are related?

So got the FR-S in today for rough idle and stalling with a one time p0172 CEL, mentionned the crickets, trunk popping noise, and loud AC clutch engagement.

they weren't able to replicate the popping in the trunk since I has sprayed it with grease as per the Suabru bulletin.

They orderred the high pressure fuel pump in, and stated that they think that the stalling and AC engagement noise are related. Anyone hear something similar at any point? Crickets and rough idle being related?

I told them that I didn't think it was, as a lot have crickets and that I haven't seen anyone with causality to idling problems. They went on to say that a small number of cricketing pumps are in fact deffective and may cause fuelling problems... I'm quite diapointed that they wouldn't even consider doing the reflash first for the idling problems. They actually offered for me to keep driving the car as they wait for the part... I told them that I didn't feel that it was safe to be driving around in a car that just randomly shuts off.

AC engagement noise and crickets are two different things.

Stalling and AC engaging can be related, as the car lowers RPM's when the AC engages and a lot of people feel the idle is too low at ~600 and car almost stalls sometimes.

Yes, that's understood that they are separate. The dealer just said they could be related, not that theyre the same. What im more curious about is whether crickets and stalling have been reported as related in the past.

Well, as for everyone else, they changed the pump, and crickets are back after 100km or so. It would seem a true solution is not yet being implemented.
