Abnormal noise when throttle blip or WOT shifting
 

I posted a video in te Innovate thread about this abnormal popping noise I am getting. I have checked the car over and over to see if I could find the source of the noise. The car was recently installed with an Innovate supercharger. I started hearing the noise right after the install. I am posting here to see if anyone else has had this issue. The noise is driving me crazy. My tuner flies out this weekend but I was trying to take care of this prior to his arrival.

Well time to replace your seals. It is unlikely they will replace the seals under warranty.

What? You guys think a leaking combustion chamber would only manifest itself during blipping the throttle? Ha ha you crazy.

sounds like detonation. I have the same exact sound, deciding whether I should bring it in...

I get the popping sound that everyone talks about with the detonation and seal failure, only thing is, I've only ever heard it when pulling away with light throttle, on my 1-2 shift, less than 3k or 4k RPM. And once on a downshift blip (probably 5k tops). It's not anywhere near repeatable enough to bring in, but I'm afraid I'm destroying my DI seals every once in a while.

I am doubtful it's DI injector failure. It does not make that sound when at idle free revving. Only under load or while in motion and throttle blip.

I have the same thing. But I don't have FI. I was told it may be the intake opening. I have a Perrin inlet hose and I started to hear it after installing that.

Agreed...that sounds very much like a quick snap of detonation (ping, pre-ignition, spark knock...whatever term you want to use) to me.

I seem to remember a member posting a video of the exact same sound, which was right before an engine seizure/failure...
