JET86. The Australian self built, twin charged build.
Time to update. It's been a while but the jet is now back on the forums.
Here is the old build and its past history. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26869 |
So Basically i have been pretty slack lately updating my last build thread so i decided to start another as the car has been completely re-done due to the legal issues i have been having. I have come very close to losing the car to the epa and at this point in time i struggle to even get out of my street without being pulled over.

So this is the turbo I have been running. It is a Gtx3076r with a blouche wheel. It's currently hitting boost (19psi) around 4500rpm. To me that's pretty late for this car so it's why I'm adding the supercharger.

@jet86 so I thought about this all night. Obviously the turbo will out produce the supercharger in CFM. So id the turbo Begoņa to hit its efficiency range that in coming air shoved in the supercharger will the blades of the superchager interfere with in coming flow or will it turn the SC faster. Also if you are spinning that SC faster it should heatsoak faster and heat up your intake temps as well. Aslo I know that the 3076r basically has the same spool rate as the 35r but less power. Also what if the supercharger pulls in so much air it pulls air in from the turbo effecting its CFM and possibly keeping it from sloweing down forcing open your throttle body?

Doesn't the supercharger have a bypass valve that is open during idle to equalize pressure? I'd imagine that can be opened up once the turbo is spooled up. Don't know about cfm rating on the supercharger with the valve open, it could still be a potential restriction on performance...
As long as that valve is open and the supercharger is free spinning heat soak should not be an issue since it is not doing any work at that point. |
