Ive come to the realization that price speculation threads always end up being a disappointment. The price seems to always come in about 1000 over the general consensus. So while most of us are thinking 28 for the L, Im expecting 29.

I really hope that is OTD. I was hoping for well under .89.

In reality though, I would love to get the limited for under 30k OTD. If Subaru could pull that off they will have a line OTD.

$25.2 Premium
$27.5 Limited

Don't get greedy Subaru, or I'll buy the FRS instead.

^This^ I'll have to stomach those racer red FRS seat inserts. :barf:
Not good on the GBS.... Ugh...

Dont think those are on the US cars.

Sounds good, on all counts. Now that Scion has their price out there, the sales are Subaru's to lose if they screw the pooch on pricing.

Nice try, Subaru.

Most people seem to have forgotten the original point of this car (i.e. great suspension, 200hp, and SUB $20k price) so I am going to reference that of which I am having a hard time letting go of.

http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/741...kyo-motor-show

I distinctly remember when that article first came out, I was supremely excited about this car. Superb handling, 200hp NA and I quote "price is expected to be just above $20,000".

Somehow, some way, the price jumped from "just above $20,000" to.... $24,930 (for the FR-S). $4,930 above $20,000 is not JUST ABOVE. It's way above. So far above that it's highly disappointing and yeah I understand economies and emerging markets and tsunamis in Japan, etc. But my idea of Just above $20k would have been... $21,000.

This isn't even factoring that the BRZ is going to cost EVEN MORE than the FR-S.

So I would pay the original expected price of roughly $21,000.

The car as changed a bit since then. It's priced right IMO.

I guess it depends. I obviously wanted it to be a $20,000 car, but the reality is that it is not, unfortunately.. I won't pay anything above the MSRP and if it is priced like $25,700 (excluding destination fee) or above I probably would not like it. It would not be so much because I cannot pay the price, but the fact that they said it would start around $25K and then would have sneaked up the price again. It all depends on taking look at the actual car and driving it. If it feels like it is worth $25K+, then I will do it. If not, I will pull out my deposit. Also, how much they can work on my trade-in is another factor.
