new guy in Baltimore area

whats up everyone.

names Mike, I'm a Subaru tech at Wilkins in Glen Burnie, MD

Just pulled the trigger today on getting a SWP limited 6mt, trading in my 04 sti.

It should be here in about 2/3 weeks

I'll be on the lookout for other locals

Welcome to the forum man. I frequent the glen burnie/pasadena area since I live in Curtis Bay. I had my crickets fixed at your shop but they unfortunately made a return trip. Oh well. Welcome to the forums! I knew a lot of the Subaru techs when I lived in AK. Definitely good people to know!

Your BRZ was the first one our shop did, the other main tech did yours.

And yeah the "fix" isnt really much of a fix at all but the noise isnt detrimental at least.

Yeah lol def good to know someone at the dealers.

I'll start frequenting these forums more and hopefully can get to know some of you, we have weekly meets on Wednesdays at whitemarsh, when im on a computer ill link the thread from nasioc.

welcome! I am right down the road from you on Oakwood Rd although my relationship with Subaru is with the Annapolis shop.
No BRZ yet, have to close on this house purchase first....
Also, no affiliation, but @Pure Automotive has a shop locally and does great work. Check it out.

I take my car to Wilkins. I like the people there.

CARNZ 08-21-2013 11:01 PM

thanks, this is my first new car, it's soo nice. i love it :D

Jaylyons1 08-22-2013 04:30 PM

My BRZ was my first new car too. My wife has had like 4 new ones but all the ones I bought were always used. Granted they were still fun!

Welcome to the forums! Always good to have another tech on here!

Initial impressions? vs. 2004 STi?

Nick C.

CARNZ 08-22-2013 07:20 PM

I feel like it's much more enjoyable to drive than the STi, nowhere near as fast in a straight line but the handling is definitely superior. You can feel that its a much lighter car and I really am impressed with how responsive it is for a 2.0L NA.

I plan to get your interior lighting kit asap!

Jaylyons1

It's cool having a new car that only I have owned and will probably keep for a long time. Before this my 04 STi was my newest car.

I've owned:
04 STi
02 WRX
99 Integra LS
98 Integra GSR
98 Legacy GT
94 Legacy SS
90 Legacy Sedan
88 Civic Hatch
86 Subaru GL-10

Looks good in person too. Getting some parts now. Assuming this one is yours at the shop.
