First 86: Now that the price is released, what's next?

I assume we haven't gotten our second notice ("Price is available, time to sign again") because the accessories catalog has not been released yet. If I remember correctly from the initial email, the next step is signing the final price, which would include accessories.

Anyone see it any different?

I agree with you
I haven't heard anything from the dealer or scion

I talked with my salesman last week. He said nothing to sign yet. Did not indicate what next step was.

Yea, I've had absolutely no contact from my dealer at all since I put down the money.

I called Scion Customer Experience. The young lady that helped me ran off and asked someone there in charge of the 86 program. She verified that we will receive an email with a 96 hour notification for the next step (signing the price), and that it will most likely not happen until after the accessory list has been approved because at that point we will be basically ordering the car configured the way we want it for the build.

I'm guessing that won't be until after the SoCal trip, but she would not speculate.

More whinging and bickering about the most minute of details?
Oh, oh... you mean at the dealers ;-)

After colour and transmission, if you choose to customize further maybe it is possible you will not be receiving your car in the same batch as First86'ers who take their car bone stock?
I remember some proviso in the contest details to the effect that adding accessories could affect delivery.

Most of Scion's "optional equipment" is added at the dock, including some things considered dealer-added accessories. I'm guessing if you add bling to it, it delays the delivery to the dealer, or you might have to wait until the accessory is even available.

So in the end, yea I would think it could cause you to receive it later than others.

Only thing I'm really considering is a spoiler depending on what type they offer. If it would delay delivery, I would just do it myself.

Wonder if the wait has anything to do with Subaru not announcing the BRZ price yet.

Not sure why that would matter. Its not like Sciota is going to change their price at this point. I'd be interested to know why you would think so.

Let me put down this scenario Frs:24,930 brz starting at 25,630 i think that would hurt pretty badly to frs sales

Tainen 03-26-2012 07:03 PM

the BRZ will have $750 destination on top of it's price as well, though...

so if it's 25,400 it'll still end up being 26,150. still a good difference there.

SkitterSkotter 03-26-2012 07:06 PM

I will pay $24,960 for the car. I just pre-ordered it this afternoon in hot lava. So excited!

You lost me, which admittedly isn't always difficult to do. Why should that delay the beginning of ordering for the FRS? Are you thinking Scion might up the standard equipment to make it a better deal?
