Calgary: Where do you get your car serviced?
 
Can you recommend any shops? Hopefully somewhere near the south. I've tried searching the forum but couldn't find one

As @stateless would say, I recommend you go to Allmakes Auto Repair, they specialize with Subies and their repair charges aren't as ridiculous as the dealerships.

Are you asking just for oil changes or for damage repairs? My car's only a month old as of today, so I haven't gotten any service done obviously.
Let me know what your experience is like, but I think I'm just going to stick to the dealership because I have free lifetime oil and filter changes, including labour.

Do check your oil filter after the change, they had left mine loose...

Did you just happen to notice it somehow while looking at something else or did you specifically check your oil filter after the change to make sure?

I actually didn't see it till like 3 weeks after. I was in the engine bay just cleaning and I saw oil sitting in the filter holster and I turned it by hand it was lose

Glad to hear there are other places we can bring our cars, unfortunatly, I had a MAJOR problem with the dealership and in a "war of emails" and then an eventual "sit down" with the general manager, I was "given" a $1000 service credit, and free oil changes for life. So now, because of my horrible experience with the dealer, and the crappy way I was treated, I don't want to go back to them for anything, but looks like I will be as I want to use what fought so hard to get!
They had better hope they don't "forget" to tighten my filter, or some other obvious mistake......or I'll be fuming!!!

Subaru of Calgary (Jaguar dealer) does my service work. They do very good work.

Until the warranty expires you have to use the dealer to ensure your warranty remains valid.

I dont think so, for the warranty to be valid I think you have to have paper work of any work you get done at any shop.
This is so that people dont do the work in their garage..

Yes, using other shops does NOT invalidate your warranty.

Calgary Subaru had problems doing basic things right when I used to use them, you've probably just been lucky.

Sure, you just go ahead and use Joe's garage and see how you do if your engine blows up.

This is Canada NOT the US. In this country it is perfectly legal for Subaru to force you to use the dealer.
