NorCal 86DRIVE: Alice's to 84 to Pescadero DRIVE! Saturday August 17, 2013
 

Summer's not over yet and there's still plenty of time for DRIVES! Join us this weekend for another fun morning of driving.

We'll meet at Alice's Restaurant, between 8:00AM-8:30AM. Eat in advance or bring your own breakfast. If the lot is too crowded then park across the street at the Mountain Terrace lot. Plan to roll out by 8:45AM. We want to hit the road as early as possible to avoid other traffic/cyclists.

The route will take us down Hwy 84 towards the coast and then we'll take Stage Road down to Pescadero. From there we can either head back out to the coast for some scenic Hwy 1 cruising, or attack more twisties on Pescadero Creek and return to Alice's.

If you have walkie-talkie radios bring them! We will take a more relaxed pace so this will be a great event/drive for the newer drivers or anyone who's never run with us before.

And yes, this will be a sticker-earning event that will get you eligible for the 86DRIVE summer-end raffle! More info/details on the end-of-summer raffle party will be coming soon...

I just realized it's also Monterey Car week, as noted in the other thread. So another option after we reach Pescadero is to continue on down to Monterey and check out either the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca or Cars & Coffee or one of the many auto auctions that will be going on over the weekend.

I'm jealous.

I wish my BRZ was here. It does not arrive until the 24th in Colorado. Can I attend in my GT-R?

Yes! I think most of us would love to see a GT-R out with us. :D

Just don't whine too much that we're holding you up in the straights LOL. This will be a not-too-aggressive drive.

I am old and settled now. I save my aggressive driving for the track, ideally in a road race car.

What time do you figure the drive will be over?

I figure we will probably reach Pescadero about 10ish if not sooner. From there it's probably back to Alice's by 11AM if we want to make the return trip, or people can go their separate ways from there, i.e. if they want to cruise down Hwy 1 to Santa Cruz/Monterey, or head up Hwy 1 back towards HMB/SF.
