ECUTek - What parameters can't the software tune?

I've seen it hinted a couple of times in various threads that while ECUTek is quite robust in its tuning abilities, there are certain ECU functions that haven't been cracked or can't yet be adjusted.

For example, are there any fuel or timing related issues/items that can't be corrected still? How about CELs that can't be disabled?

are there any big items that are a cause for concern, expecially for the FI guys?

I found one, not sure if its ecutek related as such. Being that I drag race my car I need to do a bunout. Put the car in second gear(tc fully disabled btw) rev to launch control, start spinning, get on the brakes a bit car spins for 2 seconds then the ecu cuts the throttle off. Very annoying. It's almost like the car thinks your panic braking and forgot to take your foot of the gas.

Most likely: The majority of tables are not known by ecutek or any other solution

Reality: It doesn't really matter

Some modern ECU's have hundreds, if not thousands of tables. They're very complex.

have you tried the pedal dance?

Yup. No dice

Torque managment + traction control (even tho it's "off" it may not really be off, just a lot more lenient) + VSA (see previous comment) + random logic to protect whatever various parts (examples: dif score, trans protection, random etc) + plus using a brake pedal (which there is probably logic in there to protect from dynamic shock loads and/or vehicle stability dynamics) + different tires (obviously cars are tuned on a specific tire/tires, change that mU and there's another variable) + more power = who knows what it's doing.

As far as monitoring what's going on, there are 1000's of monitorable channels of ECU data/info, and unless you're Subaru R&D, the general public will never begin to "scratch the surface" of scratching the surface of a detailed understanding/seeing these subsystems/logics/flows.

Be happy we can get the performance upgrades we can get.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ECUTEK can't control injection timing or fuel pressure directly.

I'm by no means complaining about what ECUtek can do, its a great tool and has allowed alot of great aftermarket performance development in a very short period of time considering the car has only been out a year.

That said, its good to know what issues are still out there, as the more people that know the better as it might lead to new solutions.

The throttle cut is a safety aspect added after the pedal sticking fiasco. You can't have a runaway vehicle if the ECU disables the throttle body due to brake pressure.
