Racer X LCAs

Well these bad boys just came in yesterday, so I figured I would throw up a few pics for those that are interested. Now I just need to find time to make it over to @TiC to pick up the front camber plates. Here you go:

Did you choose to not have the arms powdercoated?

I originally wanted them to be powdercoated, but ended up having them zinc plated. In the future, I may end up having them powdercoated if they start to pit from rust. Once this car is no longer taking on DD duties, I'll be switching to spherical bearings instead of the poly bushings

What's the weight compared to the OEM?

Dephective 08-16-2013 12:03 PM

idk what the weight is, but they are chromoly steel, which allows you to use half the material as stamped steel (oem). I would say they are maybe a 1lb lighter, but they are considerably stronger than stamped steel.

I just received my invoice, I'll post pics when I receive them.

He's probably accurate. I can try to wigh them both before I install them tomorrow morning. I'm installing these, konis, machv springs and hvt camber plates

I have RacerX rear lca with spherical bearings. I can't pick any additional nvh over the original arms.

I'm more worried about mantinence at this point. If I wasdoing more track days, I think having the spherical bushings would be better. I think these will lat me a little longer than the spherical bearings would (we salt our roads a lot)

But for climates/locations that do not have the need for salting the roads, would you consider the spherical bushings (with the optional dust boots) to be acceptable for a daily driver/track day vehicle…?!?

I am thinking my 'dream suspension' would be the complete Racer X lineup & Ohlins coil overs…

I view spherical bearings as a consumable. In my previous car I changed them every couple of years. I have no idea if this was required it was just something I did. I will be carrying out the same schedule with my current car.
As been mentioned a couple of times in these threads (see my post above) there is no noticeable increase in nvh with spherical bearings.

bakerr6 08-18-2013 04:46 AM

I think is you are not dealing with salt that they will last you much longer. 2 years would be a little excessive for normal drivng standards though. If you are tracking the car, you may need to change them more frequently
