higher Boost?
So i want to boost higher than 7psi, Maybe 9psi, how could I do this?
I have the fa20club kit + external waste gate + blow off, I was told all i have to do is switch the spring in the wategate to boost higher? |
prick answer: if you have to ask that, you should probably sell the turbo kit before you blow up your car and/or hurt yourself.
nice guy answer: you need a boost controller, and a retune. |
Contact FA20Club. As you may need fueling upgrades ect. They will be able to get you straight and the parts required to do what you are looking to do. Have fun.

An external gate opens up when the desired pressure (boost) is reached to dump excess exhaust to stop the turbo making more boost, this pressure is altered by changing the springs inside the wastegate... The actuator your talking about from your genesis was obviosly on an internally gated turbo, is esentially the same thing.. I take it when you say fiddled with it you were adjusting the rod going from the actuator to the exhaust housing on the turbo.
Hope I've made that clear enough and worded right :s |

So from what I understand I can get an electronic boost controller and then have Toni retune it. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2 |
And when I raise the boost I have to change the spring to the psi I raise it by right?

another option is to get the boost solenoid and just have tony tune it, but that's probably still more expensive/error-proned than a good mbc. |
I have electronic and I can change boost on the go with the cruise controls from ecuteck low boost mid and high settings
