ATP Gold? (Advanced Turbo Performance)
Okay! So now that the FI market is well underway.. I was wondering whether or not you guys have heard of ATP (Advanced Turbo Performance?) They are located in Victoria and a couple of my mates have had their OEM turbos (from their EVOs) to be swapped out and upgraded with an ATP Gold series.
Having driven his car, I can say the very least that the response is IMMEDIATE with absolutely NO LAG and he is hitting roughly 280awkw with a semi-conservative E85 tune. It feels like there is no turbo in the car, but more like the car is NA.. the power delivery is so smooth that it feels nothing like a conventional power spike you get with most of the big turbos going around. My friends are currently studying out of state with 40+ contact hours along with placements at various clinics/hospitals.. What I want to know is whether or not members of this community have dealt with ATP in the past? Are they a reputable company who adhere to excellent customer service? The company website states that they are experienced with "ALL Mitsubishi Turbo cars as well as Nissans, VL Commodores, SUBARU’s and most other turbo’s including diesel models." (quote taken from website). Only so much information can be obtained from a website so all opinions are welcome! |
have ya tried googling other forums with those cars listed..?

I have come across some debate in the American Forums but that only ended up with the OP being slandered as a "product pusher" - can't blame the American crowd as the ATP Gold was more expensive and seeing similar (if not worse) gains when compared to another similar turbo in the US Market. Furthermore, they concluded that the parts of the turbine compressor wheel/housing were similar to that of Taiwanese parts they'd seen on a lesser-grade turbo. |

have you thought of the turbo kit we offer.

One thing that steers me away is cost of shipping/freight - I seriously am considering FI and trying to find someone local to me (Australia) along with a dyno tune would be most desirable to me at the least. |

I'm not meaning to disrespect any turbo kit made, I am opting out for cheaper options, and by that I mean staying local, and buying turbo kits from the states is definitely not one of them. Instead of being constrained to using the stock ECU, I could go all out and have a full stand-alone set up.. I mean Australia is very well known for brands such as MoTeC and Haltech! |
