Raven Street Cruiser

I have been lurking on the forum for a while, mainly just to search the vendor and user flea markets, but I figured it was time to do a log.
I was originally searching for one in the Hot Lava color until one day a bare-bones, manual, 2013 Raven showed up fresh off the truck. 0 miles on the odometer and still covered in plastic. I really liked the look of the black and so I decided to pick it up.
So on Wednesday, May 9th I went to the dealer and picked it up!

Got it home!

This FR-S is the first new car that I have purchased on my own as well!:D I don't have many plans for this car until the warranty runs out. Until then it will be my cruiser for around town and occasional trips. I do eventually want to go FI. I have already installed a few things:

-Greddy CAI and the UniChip

-Whiteline Front Strut Bar

-GTSpec Rear Strut Bar

I also ordered a 70mm Greddy RS muffler which I will be mating to a custom single exit exhaust which will exit on the driver side of the car.

The exhaust will be done after September 3rd, (I had surgery on my right ankle on the 23rd of July and can't put pressure on it for 6 weeks.) and then I will re-tune the car with the UniChip again.

Couldn't wait any longer, got the exhaust done on the 15th and man does it sound great!

:thumbup:Good choice on color!

T_Scott 09-11-2013 01:18 PM

Thanks! I like it a lot. Nobody around here knows quite what the car is yet haha

You the Unichip only reads the voltage of the ECU and makes changes to it right?

It is a piggy back system. Not a true tune.

Many thing can go wrong with a piggy back.

Yes I do know that, I am most likely going to be selling it and getting this over the winter: http://www.fa20club.com/product.php?...cat=251&page=1

Kelbyat07 09-11-2013 03:26 PM

Did you install the exhaust yet? If so how does it sound?

T_Scott 09-11-2013 04:09 PM

Yes I got the exhaust installed, I just need to upload the pictures and the video. It sounds really nice I think. Sounds better than the video.

T_Scott 09-11-2013 04:17 PM

Got the exhaust done, threw a Thrush resonator in as well.
Still need to tuck the muffler a bit more, but ehhh, maybe not.

Ordered the Cusco Spin Knob in red, it showed up September 16th.

I like it a lot. Did a quick install on it as well. Long, annoying way is in RED, the way I did it is in BLUE.

Install? Obnoxiously easy. Here are the steps you're supposed to take:
1. With the E-Brake down, put car in gear, I chose 5th to make it easy.
2. Pull the handle off of the E-Brake, it's held on with a bit of glue and is tough so just wiggle it off with a lot of force.
3. Once the lever is off, grab some channel locks and use them on the stock knob, turning to the right. It will take some muscle. *(If you don't want to damage the stock knob, put some tape on tape around the knob, duct tape works best.)*

4. Once the knob is off, pull out the spring located behind it.
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...910_165244.jpg
5. Put the E-Brake handle back on.
6. Put on Cusco Spin knob twisting to the left.

Here's the easy way(the way I did it):
1. Use channel locks to twist off stock knob.
2. Take out spring.
3. Twist on Cusco spin knob
4. Poof! Easy drifting!
:)

Hopefully I can get a few more things done over the winter. I plan on getting smoked Crystal Eye tailights, smoked clear sidemarkers, and blacked out headlight housings.

My Aunt got me a Flossy Nub Nub Knob for Christmas! It's 327 grams, making not too heavy and not too light either.

I also decided to order a Billet Short Shifter and Trans mount, as well as some MTEC Shift Springs.
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...225_140014.jpg

I will be installing all at the same time once the shirt shifter and springs get here.

So all this finally came in yesterday! Woot!

Perrin Crank Pulley in anodized red should be on its way soon! Now I just have to wait until the weather gets warmer. This whole -6 degrees thing really puts a damper on working on the car.

T_Scott 01-29-2014 12:27 AM

Over the last two weeks I was able to find some free time to get some things installed.
I got the BPS short shifter installed:
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...110_161436.jpg

It ended up being a bit of a pain, but nothing too bad

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...110_162420.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...110_163006.jpg

Got it installed and threw on the new shift knob. Everything feels great, but I am waiting until I bring it out of storage so I can drive it and see if it is in the perfect position before I put all of the interior back together.
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...110_183621.jpg

I also received my Perrin Crank Pulley and threw that in as well, it was a very easy install.
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...117_150404.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/f...125_174134.jpg

I still need to install the shift springs and the rear trans mount, but those shouldn't take very long. I just want it to be a tad bit warmer out before doing so.
