FI Exhaust Options
What are you guys (and gals) running or thinking about running?
2.5", 3", cat-back, header back, overpipe & test pipe :iono: Too many options...just might run an open exhaust & kill the environment 1 shift at a time :burnrubber: |
It depends, S/C or turbo?
|
I'm throwing this out for everyone so options for both would be nice
|
3" all the way out if it is an option. Just my opinion.
|
I'll be going with PTuning's modular 3 inch exhaust
|
3 inch str8 back !!
|
i have fullblown 3in exhaust if it sounds like shit with my fa20club uel i will get something else.
|
Mentioning brands would be nice...along with reviews and video clips would be great.
When we say 3" do we mean cat back, header back? What about overpipe and front pipe? The more detail the better for prospective buyers. |
Well... A 3in cat back will do nothing if your front pipe and over pipe are still <2.5 in. So obviously a 3in hearer back....

Turbo guys should seriously consider the tomei 80 ! It's even bigger than 3" and I bet sounds amazing too

That Tomei looks right up my alley
Excuse my giddiness... I'm soon to be Boosted! |
3" vendors aside from PTUNING & FBM?
I haven't looked into FBM. While PTUNING offers a 3" catback, I haven't seen PTUNING offer a 3" overpipe and test pipe... I know FA20Club has a 3" test & overpipe. I don't know if they have the accompanying midpipe to complete a full header back 3". |
Perrin has a 3" cat back for $999

the tomei 80 would work for those running the set up that PTuning has to offer though right? It appears to be a cat back

If you already have our DS-325 modular exhaust and plan to run our PTUNING turbo system, you will only need to buy the optional 3" midpipe to complete your true 3" Turbo-back exhaust system. MrC |
Im sure we will see more over time, from what ive heard a 3inch overpipe is a very tight fit some are fixing it with sway bar spacers or engine mounts.

With that said, it is a TIGHT fit. |

FA20Club also has a 3" overpipe and front pipe

3" all the way back for a turbocharger is fine and dandy, but I would not dare run that on a supercharger. Turbos quiet down exhausts - superchargers do not.
Even now with the JDL UEL header I have, and ARK DT-S exhaust thats 2.5" its up there in noise. I had to remove my front pipe because that setup was too loud. I'm trying to decide if I should run the header/front pipe and put the stock catback on, but i'm not sure yet.. lol. |
