Canadian 2014 BRZ

Not sure if anyone looked at this yet but it was posted yesterday(Sept 6th.)

Subaru updated their Canadian website for the 2014 models. US website is still showing 2013.

http://www.subaru.ca/WebPage.aspx?We...&WebSiteID=282

Looking around, here's a few things I gathered from it:
  • No price increase.
  • All colours are listed except for GBS.
  • There is a MT and AT for the Premium(base) model.
  • No mention of the debadging, knee pads or speaker panels.
  • Freight increased to $1650.00

I came across this in their press release.

New for the 2014 model year, the BRZ's navigation system is now voice-activated and also includes XM Satellite Radio (free 3-month trial subscription included) and XM NavTraffic (subscription required).

Didn't really see anything else that popped out at me...

When I was talking with my dealer a few days ago, he said the cars are in Canada and on route to dealers.

for reference...

I just picked up a BRZ Sport Tech for under MSRP. They know the 2014s are coming up and they want to get rid of their 2013.

Also, as far as I know, 2014 BRZ wont be in until October I believe.

Ottawa dealerships would not budge. They would offer 250$ off a base, nothing on a Sport Tech. I went to Lachute Subaru instead near Montreal.

So go somewhere else.

I'm waiting on a '14 too, I hear late October.

Also there should be maybe a new colour or two, so might be worth the wait.

The only new colour is the Lightning Red I believe. Canada still won't get the Galaxy Blue because you can't get a 2014 GBS in the states either. That color is being killed off by Subaru. Not sure if Scion will keep Ultramarine. I hope they don't. My Ultramarine will be rare since they even got rid of the TRD intake and the upgraded audio head unit, both of which I have.

They said they're receiving the 2014s on their lot next week. Seems sketchy to me, I'm not sure if they're just saying that to get me to purchase early.

Can anyone else contact a dealer in the area and confirm?

If it helps, here in US, most subaru dealerships are already taking pre-orders in 2014s. But they won't be delivered until October. I confirmed this with couple Scion dealerships too, which gave me the same date of delivery, October.

My subaru dealership is receiving their last shipment this week of 2013 inventory, and as far as I know they are not being made anymore.

So I really doubt there are 2014s in Canada this early. That would mean they were in production since June, which we know it's not the case.

How much under MSRP was yours? I'm looking for an AT due to health issues.
Apparently, they can't get their hands on the colour I want.

That's what I'm thinking as well, I'm doubting that it'll arrive this soon. I'm skeptical but we'll see, I'll check in 2 weeks or so and update my post if anything.

I initially wanted to go with a FR-S, there's plenty around but the small price difference to the Sport Tech/Limited BRZ makes more sense to me and besides I want it in WRB.

Yeah that does seem sketchy. The dealer ive been talking with in Calgary told me late october. Im gona call other dealers around here just to get a second opinion

Ok so i called another dealer in calgary and they also said late october. Anyone have any info on what the dealers in the GTA are saying? The delivery date is going to determine if i buy the car in Calgary or Toronto so im curious to know

I believe taxes here are more expensive than where you are as well.

This was the same dealer that told me Lightning Red was available for 2014 model in Canada which I've seen a few people on here say as well.

Yeah taxes and insurance is alot less here but i have to be back in Toronto soon for my last year of uni.

Call other dealers in the GTA see what they say about the delivery date. It would work perfectly for me if i can get a 2014 by the end of this month or early sept but i highly doubt that based on what most dealerships are saying and from what ive read on other threads on here.

Btw what dealership are you dealing with?

I just realize that you guys up north get a Pioneer head unit and not a Subaru one. You guys are so lucky...

If you can claim Alberta residency for long enough it's a no brainer to buy here: no HST surcharge just the GST of 5%.

If you move too soon to reside in Ontario they collect that extra tax anyway.

I cannot imagine a worse head unit than the one in my BRZ, you mean the US cars are worse? On my top trim Sport Tech it is by Pioneer and the interface is awful. Sounds good though.
