Unofficial 8/6 meetup? Hayward SONIC DRIVE IN 730PM-10PM
 

Well this Tuesday will be 8/6 which is of course significant date for us 86 owners LOL. I know there are major meets planned for the next weekend (86FEST north and south) but I know at least @NorCalGirl and @denkigrve want to do something to unofficially celebrate.

every Tues the MR2 guys (cousins to the FR-S/AE86!) meet up somewhere informally and hang out. I believe this week it will be at the Sonic Drive-In in Hayward. That's really close by my house so I will probably want to stop by there and say hi even if I am not in my MR2.

UPDATE: sounds like most people are down for meeting at the Sonic Drive In. Meet up for the MR2 guys starts at 7:30PM. Let's plan to get there same time.

Thanks in advance! I like going to this Sonic and having meets there and they are pretty cool about us hanging out there, so I will be very disappointed if anyone does anything dumb and makes it so that we cannot hold meets there in the future. Yes we all drive cool cars and you are cool for having one. You will not impress us any further with antics or how loud your exhaust is etc.

Sorry I know 95% of you already know this and didn't need to read it, but there is always someone who doesn't get the memo. :iono:

Just FYI there are a good number of drive in stalls at the Sonic, but if there are not enough spots there we can always park in the larger lot just outside of the Sonic. The Sonic has a few outside tables you can order/eat at and I will probably sit there as opposed to trying to eat in the car.

@PMok, looks like it'd be easiest for you to head straight there based on your proximity.

So, I'm in the San Ramon/Dublin/Pleasanton area. If anyone else wants to meet up and drive out together, I figure we can meet up about 6:30 at Dublin Toyota, and roll out at 7.

I'm IN for Sonic. I always get lost when I go to Hayward though for some reason...

If you want to take the fun way down, you guys could take Palomares down from CV to Union City then up Mission Blvd briefly to get to the Sonic. ;)

Man, poor Sushi dude. He's trying to drum up interest in the Sushi place so is trying to setup meets there, and 8/6 was supposed to be the first one. However it's been a pretty lazy organizational setup compared to this. I went the week before last to this place, the Sushi is pretty good. There's some nigiri, but mostly pieces of fancy rolls with crab in them. I'm going to see if I can do both since both are pretty close to one another.
