FRS bumper on BRZ, possible?

Anyone knows if this is possible? Has anyone done that?

I'm getting a '14 BRZ very soon, but I want the FR-S bumper instead. Mainly because the body kits I'm considering are available only for the FRS front bumper (the rest is the same).

Note: In case you wondering, if you make some math, it's actually easier and cheaper to change a front end to make it look like the FRS, rather than trying to emulate the BRZ options that don't come in the FRS. The headlights of 86 alone will cost upwards $1000.

Edit: my bad :bonk:

I don't think so, since they have slightly different headlights size-wise hence incompatible front bumpers.

It is possible as they are both the same car. Difference Is the spacers in the headlights assuming.

Jhood168 did it to his car:

The headlights are exactly the same size, the only difference is in how the bumper is around the headlights (the brz's number covers the lights slightly the FRS number meets them at the edge). You can swap bumpers without issue, the only "issue" will be losing your LED DRL's.

Your probably better off looking for a Scion 10 Series FR-S...

I will trade you bumpers.

No he wouldn't. Leather/Heated Seats, Heated Mirrors, Nav, Stitched parking brake boot and handle are all missing from the FR-S

AVodka14 08-04-2013 12:29 PM

Let's confirm this again. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE THE SAME SIZE ON BOTH CARS!

Also doesn't the BRZ limited come with that homelink mirror thingie?

It's a factory option, I had mine added at port.

Thanks for the replies, turns out after some more research, it's actually possible and some guys have done it.

Reason I don't get the 10 series is because what a poster above mentioned PLUS (and this is the main reason) Dealerships are CRAZY with the markups they are placing on 10 series.

I actually went in this past week to the biggest Scion dealer in Houston and made him an offer as I was going to buy the car right away (I would've) and he refused, he wouldn't come down one cent of his "reduced price" of $30950, he was actually asking $31850. The MSRP of that car is $28150, and I would pay a little more, but definitely not more than the BRZ Limited.

Here in Austin is even more ridiculous, their asking price for a 10 series FRS is over $32000. And that is a 2013 model, so I rather just wait and get me a BRZ from Clint and change the bumper, it would cost me less and still have Navigation, the spoiler and the more respected Subaru badge.

That makes sense. Scion "Pure Price" is pure BS... I recommended the 10 Series because you are in Texas and I figured you would not care about heated seats/mirrors. But not for those crazy prices.. These cars are not worth $30K plus...

Yes sir, Hass is the one that doesn't want to come down. Then I went by another one in South West Houston, forgot the name, but that one didn't have a manual.

I know, I thought that was supposed to be Scion's policy, but who knows, maybe because it's a special edition?

I'll keep looking around, I'll check that dealership you mentioned, thanks.
