Hesitation/Cutting out in 5th and 6th gear

Hey guys,

Today I noticed something new with my BRZ. I have a Visconti Stage 1 tune and an SRT headerback for power mods. I was part throttle in 6th, and felt the car hesitate as if it was retarding timing. Not sure why it did it. I was able to replicate it again in 5th at WOT and 6th at WOT at two different RPM points. It seems to happen at either 4 or 5k rpm. WTH! First the transmissions starts grinding, now this!

Could this be an early sign of an AVCS issue? The car did it in hot and cooler temps. It did it twice, at 4k and 6k in 6th gear, I hit it at around 3k in 6th and took it up as far as I could.

Any suggestions?

Datalog, open ticket.

Yeah, I'll have to do that today. Leaves me a bit unsettled. Car hasn't had this issue before. Did it after a little bit of spirited driving, but nothing out of the ordinary. Tank was over 3/4, and I wasn't going around any corners either.

Does anyone have any idea how I can post my logs? I can't seem to attach them using the attachment tool on the control panel.

Managed to replicate the issue while data logging.

I don't think you can upload csv files here. You should be able to load into Zendesk (Visconti's support console). I have a similar issue with hesitation and have nearly the same mods (header back and stg 1 tune). I have not been able to replicate the issue while logging. I am curious what the cause could be.

Well, after spending some time looking at the logs. Here's what I came up with. I could be completely wrong, but it's my best guess thus far.

6th gear pull. Looks like something's up with the VVT:

5th gear pull, same thing. Has to be a pattern. AVCS problems on the horizon? Who knows...
