Chirp Gone Nothing Replaced

The only gas that I have never heard the chirp from is CANADIAN TIRE 91. I had shell, petro, etc.... I ran the V power as much as I could out if my tank went to Canadian Tire put $20 in & it was gone. I then ran the $20 out put in another $20 from Canadian tire gone. I never had any chirping when I first got the car then I started to use different gas and that's when I noticed the dreaded chirp. I work with someone who is trying to get scion to buy back his car as he is on fuel pump #6:confused0068: I don't know if this will work for everyone but its at least worth a try. I also picked up the car May 1st it currently has 4,000k on it and again the chirp is gone

From the first tank without ethanol free gas, I have been chirp free. It may be that Canadian Tire is more reliably ethanol free.

Interesting, good to know, I got 2 CT gas stations near my place, sucks they are always 203 cents more than other ones however.

I've had the chirp come and go multiple times in the same tank of gas, it's not purely based on ethanol content of the gas at all. Hell, I've even had it come and go in the same drive. One set of lights it's there, next it's gone, next it's back.

I suppose it is possible, I really don't listen for it all of the time. Perhaps there are multiple factors such as environmental and engine parameters that also impact the chirp. I can only say that I haven't heard it during my sporadic monitoring.

The all mighty crappy tire gasoline. Every gas station has the same gas only thing they change before it gets dumped into an underground at a specific pump station is the amount and type of additive that goes in the gas. Shell has their nitrogen and other companies have their own. My families owned shell gas stations for over 10 years, not to be biased or anything but I have got better gas mileage and better engine performance out of shell and then esso.

I ran shell V from the day I bought it as it made my previous M3 run like a new car each drive. After four months of chirping, part fixing and such I switched to chevron gas and chirps went away for about 2 weeks, then came back. I got so excited and then let down at the same time :/

I talked to my dealer, and they said "no one has complained about the noise after the part fix". I laughed and have been keeping a log and videos readily available for them when I go in for my oil change!
