heated mirrors

searched without definitive answer:

anyone installed heated door mirrors from the brz on the frs? Is there a wiring harness in the door to make this idea plug and play? This is the one feature I would love to have...

thanks

As far as I can tell no one has tried it yet. It's on my list of things to after I install my seats and a set of GT86/Series10 headlights.

I know that the relay for the heated mirrors is missing but the fuse is in place. It's a standard item in the Canadian FR-S so I'm hoping that the harness is in the door.

The exterior mirrors on the FR-S are already heated (at least the ones in Canada are).

The FR-S imported into US don't have heated mirrors, or at least MY FR-S purchased in Aug 2013 doesn't have them.

That sucks, I would have thought that some of the cold weather states would have them.

I bought some of that spray defroster for my mirrors because it's pretty hard to drive this car without them. I wasn't aware how effective the heated mirrors on my 626 were until I got the FR-S without them. It would be nice to have them.

You would think so...

All Canadian FR-S are equipped with heated mirrors, all weather mats, and all-season touring tires. It seemed that cars in our area came with all season tires as the weather was cooling off but no all season mats and no heated mirrors.

My last two cars had cold weather packages and I won't experience another winter without heated seats or mirrors

I think it is hit and miss with the all-season tires, mine came with the Michelin Primacy Summer Tires (not that I wouldn't be using dedicated Winter tires Dec-April'ish).

That is one of the reasons that I am happy that the FR-S came with cloth seats - no need for heated seats.

So assuming the wiring is in the doors somewhere, what is the Part number to order these from a Subaru dealer and how much are they each? I had heated mirrors on my old car, and I kept them on them whenever it was raining to keep the mirrors clean, they were awesome.

I'm not going to be doing this for a while but while I was researching how the OEM seat heaters worked I discovered that the relay for the Heated mirrors were missing (as mentioned above)...

This is the wiring diagram to the 2013 BRZ:

This is the Relay/Fuse block in the BRZ's engine compartment for the Heated Morrors (note: Relay&Fuse Present)

This is the same Relay/Fuse Block in the FR-S (note: Relay missing, Fuse Present)

...if anyone reading this is taking their door apart to install a padded knee pad or upgrade the sound, if you could look around for an unused harness plug present somewhere in the door, near the vicinity of the mirror, that would be greatly appreciated! :)
