I like the guys at evil genius racing, although they specialize in Mazda's, I hear one of the owners/workers bought the trashed brz/FRS for sale out here a few months ago.

I've received tuning on a emanage ultimate from Midnight performance that I was very happy with

When I need work beyond basic maintenance I usually take my car to "Driving Ambition" up in Cameron Park. The owner, Shad Huntley, is a very experienced tuner and race car builder that used to be crew chief for Dario Franchitti in the CART series. You might also recognize him from Best Motoring's "American Togue" where his Comptech NSX (customer car) won the title of America's "Togue Monster". Shad opened up Driving Ambition after Comptech (he was the mechanical arm of the shop) went under (later reopened as CT Engineering). He specializes in Honda/Acura but he is extremely skilled and knowledgable with any make and model. I've had him do work on my S2000, 350Z (sold), and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my FR-S to him. I have seen anything from Lambos, Spec Miatas, various SCCA pro level race cars, Mustangs, Fiats, Minis, WRXs, and of course countless Hondas from Civics to NSXs in his shop before. He does anything from basic mantenance to tuning to FI install to full race prep.
I'd go to his shop long before I would ever think of going to any of the other shops in Sac based on his resumee alone. Driving Ambition 4241 Business Drive Cameron Park, CA 95682 530-672-2086 |
+1 for Driving Ambition. I've taken my previous Honda cars to CT Engineering. Although I've never had experience with the Midnight Performance folks, they seem to be good people from bumping into them at the Sacramento Raceway.
