LED daytime running lights on when headlights on?

I'm looking for a DIY on how to wire up the daytime running lights to be on with all the selected option (no lights, Auto, parking lights, headlights) I noticed they go off with headlight use. Any threads out there yet on this topic? :happy0180:

dont quote me on any of this, im just brainstorming...

but i dont think simple wiring would be able to do what you want. I would guess an inverter would probably be what is needed.

Because you want them on all the time yet they still need the capability to switch to high beams when you want them to. The way the DRL relay is set up is to shut off your DRLs when the headlights come on. So if you are good with that stuff you may be able to tinker around with the DRL relay wires.

if you dont care about high beam function you can do this.

this is hid powerhouse's G's high intensity super white DRL led's. they can be turned on as a highbeam, but dont function as a highbeam since they dont put out bright enough light(they wont blind other drivers). they do however put out a good amount of light compared to the factory DRL.

here is some photos showing light output.

headlights only(these are hella optilux xtreme yellow bulbs):

LED DRL/highbeam only:

headlights with LED DRL/highbeam:

hope this helps, i know its not rewireing but it achieves your goal.
