Genome Tuning Aero Kit what do yall think??

Hi everyone we have been working for the last couple months on our very own Aero kit for the FRS and soon the BRZ. We wanted to make something that was functional and looked nice. We have finally finished our design and are ready for production.

We just wanted to get you guys feedback (THANK YOU!):

Would you buy this kit over the current available lip kits?
In carbon fiber or color paint matched?
What would you pay for it?

Ny Brz 08-01-2013 11:12 PM

If I had an FRS yes...would be interested in the BRZ concept.

It would look good in a polyurethane finish, and would keep the cost down.

Side skirts look a little off to me, maybe the should be higher

Willing to pay 700 for complete kit, if I had an FRS

Asphalt~86 08-01-2013 11:32 PM

I like the look. I think with alot of the kits if you can keep it under $1000 you're doing alright.

The rear is what looks kind of off to me. There is alot of aggressive lines and then just bare open spots where some rear spats could possible go?

Poly is the way to keep the cost down for sure, if people want to factory match let them. Carbon fiber is its own beast. I would do those made to order and just call it good.

How far are the sideskirts projected to stick out?

WingsofWar 08-01-2013 11:40 PM

theres a lot going on here on the lip and diffuser. IMO it breaks flow and adds elements that don't make a whole lot of sense.
The sidesteps are actually pretty acceptable to my eyes.

For me, your lip kit and diffuser wouldn't be among my top 5 designs id consider purchasing despite how good quality your product is.

But im glad your trying to offer something for the twins in terms of aero, outside of japan there are very few aero offerings.

Frs32907 08-01-2013 11:54 PM

How soon could you have a kit in cf ready i love it

Ryan86 08-02-2013 12:30 AM

IMO looks awesome, would definitely purchase in black poly.
Only concern is the ground clearance, as it would scrape on bumps.

SigmaHyperion 08-02-2013 12:33 AM

Looks to me like once you gave the car a much-needed drop to get that fender gap taken care of, that the body kit would be literally sitting on the ground.

charged86 08-02-2013 12:33 AM

Rear is a no for me. The sides need to be higher. And front looks like it will rub the ground while driving the extra lip in front of the mouth seems to be dropping off maybe delete that altogether

Mr Kirmudget 08-02-2013 01:01 AM

I really like the front lip, but I'm not too crazy about the rear lip or the skirts. Regardless, this is one of the better aero kits I've seen, and I'd easily be willing to pay $1100.00 for.

Minovsky 08-02-2013 01:32 AM

i really like the side skirts but so many cost too much..but that said i would worry for people who have their cars lowered.. this seems like it would almost be touching the ground if people modified their car heights..

ScionFR-J 08-02-2013 05:12 AM

Love it! :respekt:

genometuning 08-05-2013 03:52 PM

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Keep em coming :) Good or bad, no worries!

boredom.is.me 08-05-2013 04:19 PM

eh... Look at me!

oso_25 08-05-2013 04:54 PM

Its a rendering would like to see the final product

brz_star21 08-05-2013 06:10 PM

What are you basing the "functional" part on? The rear diffuser looks a bit off in the center. Too many lines going on and a true diffuser would probably extend farther out past the body line. The front and sides I just don't understand either, sorry.

genometuning 08-05-2013 06:53 PM

The rear diffuser will stick out a bit more from the body compared to the stock one. As for the front we are aiming for it to funnel the air directly into the brake air duct. Again this is a rendering and once we play around with the manufacturing of the prototype, some things will change.

We appreciate the feedback guys, keep em coming !

Asphaltfrs1 08-05-2013 07:39 PM

Why not mold the kit around a lowered car, as the majority of people will lower their car one way or another. With a nice kit aimed at lowered cars, you might get more interest.
I like how the kit looks, but I'm with everyone else in that it will scrape once lowered.

mikeTee 08-05-2013 07:43 PM

Can't really comment on the front as I own a BRZ and the render wouldn't be very applicable, but I love the way the back looks, definitely carbon fiber.

Speed2th 08-06-2013 04:15 AM

I think it i will be a pain in the butt to wash/clean. IF the rear hangs too low I would be concern with driveway and speed bump. However, it is cool and sure will pick up attentions.

Iceblazer 08-06-2013 12:01 PM

Love it!!!

Thorpedo 08-06-2013 12:22 PM

Admittedly i am more of a function over form guy but my opinion is it looks awfully gaudy. The only part that looks OK is the lip, the sides and rear are just..... oof. Right on par with civics with giant hood scoops.

Just my .02.

RehabJeff86 08-06-2013 12:43 PM

Looks horrible

Lverasky 08-06-2013 01:47 PM

love the front..give a very outstanding looks...but the rear is nono. not my cup of tea.

what is the price of the front lip and side skirt gonna be?

plucas 08-07-2013 01:09 PM

How are you planning on testing the functionality? CFD, windtunnel testing, or on road testing with sensors?

Turbowned 08-07-2013 02:30 PM

Sorry, way way way over the top for me.

Frostyman 08-07-2013 03:28 PM

I wanna see someone make a rear diffuser that also fills the rear spats location, so it's one continuous piece.

very nice the wide side skirts....very nice!

The car front lip will be leveled with the car not scooping down like in the rendering. Here is a better pic that may help show the front a bit better. As for the rear diffuser it will be adjusted based on how low and functional it is during the prototyping stage. The car will go thru wind tunnel testing to see how functional it will be. This is just a rendering so keep the feedback coming. Constructive criticism is appreciated :)

IF the kit is proven to add downforce without destroying fuel economy, comes in real carbon fiber, has a BRZ version, and is toned down to look less 'hyper'/transformer, I'd be interested. I'd be very interested if it keeps the car as stable as my 05 STI above 120mph on a windy day.

GremlinGSP 08-08-2013 02:38 PM

I'm kinda liking the kit.

stancypants 08-08-2013 03:06 PM

I love the front lip and sides the rear has way to much going on for me. As far as finish I'd like to have it paint matched and in Poly for us slammed guys that will run into a speed bump we cant avoid poly holds up alot better.

djdnz 08-08-2013 03:14 PM

It's too much, and looks so low that every car it gets put on (which will undoubtedly already be lowered) is going to be scraping.

What tunnel are you going to out of curiosity?

ScionFR-J 08-11-2013 09:38 AM

Maybe a joint venture between Hancha and Genome? Sounds good to me. :D
