Plans for Convertible Canceled?

Based on the reaction to the concept, I'd say this will make some people really happy and some people sad. I just read on Motor Authority that they canceled plans for the convertible. Is this old news? I hadn't heard anything about it before, and I check this site almost every day. Has the FR-S/GT86 not done well? I was under the impression that sales were strong.
