Window Shatter / Fracture - passenger small triangular window
I was driving on the highway this morning with the windows down and listening to the news when suddenly I heard a loud bang, and the small triangular window near the side mirror on the passenger side shattered. Then 2 minutes later, I heard another loud bang and half of that window piece blew off. I’ve had stones hit my window before on previous cars, and this sound was nothing like that. I was in the far right lane, so there was no traffic to the right of me. Anyone else have this happen to them? I’m wondering if this may be a manufacturing defect.
I managed to find one other similar account here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=816515 http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...1F19A6A7E6.jpg |
Probably from impact. The glass is pretty strong, and the frame pretty rigid.

3yrs later, it was just brought to my attention that I did not follow up on this...it was fixed under warranty by the dealership (similar to the case in the link I referenced).

I was going to guess that someone took a shot at you with a pellet gun ......:iono:

Ironically enough, my passenger vent windowed spontaneously shattered a few days ago. Almost the exact same story.. I took it to the dealership as well and they managed to cover it.
