Good to hear that they're finally reaching reasonable prices. When I was hunting in April, everything was marked way up in SJ. Stevens Creek Subaru is a joke. They're trying to sell a used FR-S out the door for 28k.

I took a closer look, only one of the BRZ out of the 4 is at MSRP, rest all marked up from 2k to 5k!

better hurry if you are still shopping!

Yeah, we lived across the street from Steven's creek Subaru....but they wanted to mark up preorders.... So we went to capitol. But like... the cars still sell at that mark up so the ones who aren't making it up - you can really tell what is important to that dealer you know?

I wonder why only one is msrp

i remember steven's creek subaru tried selling me their used frs for 28k plus fees too. Worst part is they let any potential buyer test drive test drive the frs rather than the brz because "they're not allowed to take it out".
I went to capitol right after seeing an ad for near msrp and ended up getting mines there. One person at the time was able to get a WRB premium auto for msrp because that package wasn't as hot on the market at the time.

I met one guy over the weekend at the Initial D meet, he said he bought his Limited BRZ at Serramonte Subaru I think, he knew the finance guy and was able to get his Limited for ~$28K out the door. I told him he was extremely lucky and got a GREAT deal, this was around last October. Everyone else is being gouged by the local dealerships and even his other friend paid much more at another dealership, more like $36K out the door.

And that's why I bought mine out of state from Colorado. NorCal dealers lost my business due to the markups and greed. CO > CA Cartel baby! :happy0180:

HA! I was at Serramonte to check out a brz before I left to go pick mine up from CO (thought it was a good idea to see one in person before seriously going all that way). They wanted 40k for the thing. I said, "I didn't think the car was worth MSRP." salesman said I wasn't going to get it for under that. Little did he know, I was. ::troll face::

I got mine there on 7/26 for $200 under MSRP because I was really unhappy that they all came with the rear under diffuser which was a $600 charge.

I tried bargaining with Serramonte for a BRZ-L on their lot listed with $9k markup in April. I got the guy down to $500 above MSRP, but ended up getting it $500 above invoice in Oregon without any negotiation at all.

Literally, I asked about the car and they told me they sell them $500 above invoice. I said YES I'll be right there.

:happy0180: Cheers to that.. Serramonte gasped when I told them the price I got going out of state. The finance guy's jaw dropped as he smirked to the General Manager. The overall slime factor you feel walking into certain dealerships was alive and well stepping into that place... :paddle:

I'm buying mine from CO as well, otherwise I'd probably be buying a FRS or another car all together (Focus ST). Nobody here in Cali was willing to haggle at all.

Gonna pick it up in a couple weeks, so excited :D

Yeah I almost bought a Whiteout BRZ Limited from Serramonte, only problem is, they DIDN'T want to show me the car. The sales peeps tried to give me some BS that the car they had in stock wasn't ready for viewing yet.

They were shocked that I was able to test drive the FR-S outside of a dealership at the Turkey day auto show.

Arrogance can be a nice karma sometimes.
