Car wash question

So, this may be old hat to some of you, but it's something I've been going over a fair amount in terms of wanting to keep my car looking good for years.

There's a ton of different opinions on the web and I just wanted to ask folks closer to home - best ways to wash the car, specifically:

1) I'm currently using microfiber rags [swap between 2-3 per wash] - is there anything better to use? I notice the "spiderweb" scratches here and there when I wash the car though whenever I get it detailed those vanish. Is this just normal and unavoidable with car washing?

2) Do you folks have a particular car wash solution you like to use? I'm using this Carnaba wash/wax mix from my dad and it seems gentle but effective. I go over the car after with some of the Mother's spray-wax and buff/clean the car with fresh microfiber when dry.

3) Just looking for any other "cool" tips or tricks you guys use to keep your car looking spiffy :)

Mahalos in advance guys!

Two bucket wash method with Meguiars Gold Class car wash, dry with clean microfiber then finish with waffleweave microfiber (Waffleweaves cost more than regular microfibers but they are definitely worth it), and wax with Meguiars Ultimate Wax. Easy to do and quick. I've had the car for 7 months now and no spiderwebs. I'll still probably polish the car after a few more months though.

Been watching this guys' videos for the past couple of days... Good information. Even thought about buying some of his products until I saw the shipping cost to Hawaii... Bummed me out.

There's Pak Shak off of Sand Island Access road. They have all the good detailing stuff you need.
