A downvote can also be used to draw attention away from a post that is misinformed/incorrect. The point of reddit is to have community curated content. Not always working, but the idea is there.

He probably didn't know or heard that from a Subaru dealership :iono:

That's true. But I think (IMHO) that's a better idea to reply with a well informed post (with sources if available) than just hide the infamous post away.

Well.. it is summer time.

Once schools kicks back up you'll see a lot less of this kind of thing. Thankfully the community here is on the whole much better than reddit.

I'm a redditor too, and the summer usually brings a whole host of kids with too much free time. Unfortunately, summer usually is the dead season of Reddit for me too.

The comment is most likely directed towards that.

I love Reddit, but it's far from perfect. :iono:

The majority of males under the age of 30 use reddit on a daily or semi-daily basis. I don't understand why people still act like it's some kind of obscure social club. Walk down the street and you will run into countless people who use reddit as well. It's a very popular site - front page of the internet and all that.

Lots of kids use Reddit. Lots of kids talk about things they know nothing about because they are bored or just want to get a reaction. They simple have more free time in the summer due to school being out.
